I found this recipe in the November/December Midwest Living magazine about 6 years ago and knew my family would love it. I was right. They devoured it and I’ve made these Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels every Christmas since then. If you like sweet and salty tastes together, these pretzels are perfect for you.
How many of you are like me and have a few (or more) unfinished Christmas projects? I have this sled I bought 7 years ago that I am embarrassed to say has remained unfinished up to this point. I would even display it unfinished on the porch with other sleds around it. So, one of my ideas in this series is to finish an unfinished project, but I’ll also share an easy way to finish and display a wood sled. This Christmas Sled took less than an hour to finish, so stop procrastinating and find a project to finish or buy a sled and finish a new one.
If you need a gift for classmates, kid’s friends, or little neighbors these Snowman Candy Bar Wrappers are a perfect little gift. They’re so quick and easy to make that they would be fun to make at a classroom holiday party too. You only need a few supplies and you can get started.
Most of us have a tradition of leaving cookies out for Santa. Attending cookie exchange parties have become even more popular in the past few years too, so I like to try a new type of cookie every Christmas. I decided to make these Santa Crinkle Cookies this year. They’re similar to my Chocolate Cloud cookies which has always been a family favorite. These are gluten free but you can use a regular cake mix if you don’t need to eat gluten free.
I love simple projects, especially during the busy holiday season. My goal is to make our house beautiful and inviting but at the same time I want to have time to enjoy it. I’m always looking for the balance between doing enough but not too much to take time away from my family. Starting with a simple wreath and adding a special touch to it turned it into this whimsical Pine and Pom Pom Wreath in little time.
We have a tradition of making new ornaments every year. These Wood Slice Chalkboard Ornaments are fun and easy to make and if you want to change the look you can erase them and draw a new picture. These would be super cute on a kids tree and you could see how their drawings change and improve every year.
The holidays are a happy time but can also be a stressful time for many. With everything that needs to be done you can feel like you’re being pulled in every direction and there’s just not enough of you to go around. Are you feeling overwhelmed? Is your head starting to pound and your heart beat faster? Slow down and take a deep breath! Here are some Tips for a Stress Free Holiday Season.
The 31 Days of Christmas Ideas series has taken over my life this month, but I love Halloween so much that I just had to share some of my Halloween decorations with you before the holiday is over. My kids are older so I lean towards spooky decorating, but not too spooky. This year the colors are pretty neutral with little pops of color here and there. Welcome to my Halloween House Tour!
I love this time of year and all of the fun holiday projects running through my head. You can never start too early creating gifts and holiday decor for your home. There’s something peaceful and calming about the warm glow of a candle on a cool night and this Mason Jar Luminary turned out just how I hoped it would. It looks beautiful with or without the candle.
Since I change the theme and colors of our Christmas tree almost every year I love making quick, easy, and inexpensive ornaments to go on it. We also make new ornaments for the kids tree every year and these Clothespin Snowflake Ornaments would be easy for them to make. They would also look cute hanging from a pine garland around a door or from a window or wreath.
