Fabric Covered Cork Board

I love thrift shopping and finding things that are really inexpensive but can be turned into something useful and beautiful in my own home. I found this frame for $3 a few years ago. I love finding frames because there are so many fun projects you can do with them. I’ve been wanting a Fabric Covered Cork Board and this frame was the perfect size to fit over my bedroom desk area.

My favorite part of Summer is picnicing with my family. My kids are older and we only have a few Summers left so family time is important. I always have a picnic basket packed with essentials so all we have to do is add the food and we’re on our way. Thank you Bush Brothers for sponsoring this post and letting me share my favorite Summer Bean Salad with Lime Dressing.

Button Flowers

What is it about buttons that I can’t help buying them even if I don’t sew that much? I love all of the different colors, shapes, sizes, and patterns they come in. Luckily they are also great for all kinds of craft projects. I remember seeing button flowers when I was young and thinking how pretty and dainty they were. These Button Flowers are so cute and easy to make. You’ll be hooked! You can mix and match any color of buttons to match your home decor or any holiday. They make such a sweet little bouquet.

There’s something casual about Summer get-togethers that are just fun and less stressful. Maybe it’s being outside or maybe it’s the delicious food. 7 Ways to Decorate A Mantel for Summer

I think I would have to say the mantel is my favorite space to decorate. I often get asked how I can change my decor so often without spending a lot of money. Well, I have a secret. I have a small stash of seasonal items and I also move things from room to room, changing the look in every room. I also do a lot of easy DIY projects and use paint to change the colors of items. I’m excited to share with you 7 Ways to Decorate a Mantel for Summer. You might see some repeat items but by changing the other things around them, they look different and you don’t notice that they’re being used over and over again.

Beach Themed Wood Signs

The upstairs kids bathroom sat void of wall art or any decorations at all for way too long. I think even if I had a lot of money I would still prefer to create my own home decor. It’s rewarding walking into a room knowing your created something in it. These Beach Themed Wood Signs were fun to incorporate into the kids bathroom, but since I can’t afford to change everything in the room I used colors that were already in the rugs and towels.

Pool Noodle Projects and Activities

School is already out in some areas and out in the next couple weeks in the rest, the pools and splash pads are open and I’m thinking of pool noodles. Not to swim with, but to make things with. They’re colorful, cheap, and big, so you can make many projects out of just one. Sounds like the perfect Summer craft item to me. I have gathered some of my favorite Pool Noodle Projects and Activities to share with you. What will you make first?

Disney Shadow Box Savings Bank

We love Disneyland, like really L-O-V-E it! And since moving closer we’re fortunate to be able to visit more often. We try to go at least once a year, but it’s not inexpensive and I want the kids to help out a little with the extras we might purchase while we’re there. We made a Disney Shadow Box Savings Bank so the kids could contribute to our trip and watch their money grow. It gets them more excited about the trip and who doesn’t like to count money? It’s a fun and easy project the kids can help with.

BORED Printable

The kids are going to be out of school soon and while they’re anticipating it with excitement right now, within a few days of Summer break you will probably hear those 2 little words you are dreading, “I’m Bored!” I always try to have activities planned a few days out of the week but there are also days where I just need to stay at home and get things done. Those are the days when the kids would get restless and bored. Don’t get me wrong I don’t actually think there’s anything wrong with being a little bored and having some down time, but apparently my kids do. That’s why I made this BORED Printable.
