Organizing the Trunk

Let’s talk about Organizing the Trunk or back of your car, van or SUV for Summer. My goal is to have things ready and organized for playing at the park, impromptu picnics, day hikes, last minute shopping or anything else that might pop up on a nice Summer day. I like to use these totes for organizing the trunk because they’re really inexpensive and sturdy plus they’re easy to clean. They run about $6 each and are easy to find at stores like Target or WalMart. I have 3 of them I keep in the back of the van. They fit almost perfectly across the back.

I was reading an article about kids and minimalism and it made me think about my own kids and how we have dealt with clutter and organizing their spaces throughout the years. I wanted to share with you my thoughts on Kids and Clutter and how making them responsible for their own space helps them in other parts of their life also. 10 Tips for a Successful Yard Sale

I love shopping yard sales, but I have to admit some are more enjoyable than others. I don’t think there’s anything more annoying to me than when I approach a yard sale and don’t see one price tag in sight. I’m not super outgoing and if the price isn’t obvious I will usually walk away unless it’s something I just can’t live without. There are many yard sales I’ve been to that I know could have done much better if they would have followed a few simple tips. My yard sales have all been very successful so I thought I’d share with you my 10 Favorite Tips for a Successful Yard Sale.

DIY Outdoor Games for Kids

Summer is almost here and it’s time to start thinking of ways to get the kids outside having fun. We love playing games as a family but it can get expensive buying a lot of outdoor games. I decided it would be fun to make our own DIY Outdoor Games so I headed to the store for the supplies. It was really easy finding everything I needed for a few fun games I knew the kids would enjoy. Heck, hubby and I loved playing them too.

Father’s Day Printables – banner and tags

We’re going to be celebrating Father’s Day in a few weeks so I decided I better get started planning now. I love taking a day to celebrate and honor our Fathers, Husbands, Sons, and all the important men in our lives, but it always seems to sneak up on me. This year I’m prepared and you can be prepared too. I made these Father’s Day Printables that can be used for so many things. Think: banner, cupcake picks, candy labels, gift tags, straw labels, cards, and so on, or enlarge one and frame it for dad’s desk.

It’s time to start thinking about Father’s Day gifts. My kids have always loved making and giving gifts to their dad that he can put on his desk at work or on his desk at home. Since he loves golf the kids usually want to get him something golf related. I saw this faux grass at the craft store last week and had the perfect project in mind for Father’s Day. Why not make a Faux Grass Pen Holder? I’m pretty sure he is going to love it! Do you have a golf lover too?

Picnic Utensil Carrier

The weather is warming up which means it’s picnic season at my house. Whether it’s a barbecue in the backyard, a picnic at the park, or eating around a campfire, food just seems to taste better when it’s eaten outside. I like picnics to be a little special so I made this picnic utensil carrier to be included in the picnic basket.
