I live in the desert so it can be torture to be outside in the heat of the day, but the evening hours are wonderful. It’s so pleasant enjoying a meal outside on the covered patio. I like to keep dinners fresh and light on hot days and this Creamy Spinach Artichoke Dip with vegetables makes the perfect appetizer.
Curtains are a great way to add color, texture and design to a room. They can also make a window seem larger and the ceiling feel taller depending on where they are placed. I’ve been hunting for new curtains for 10 months, with no luck. My living room window is small and not centered on the wall, I wanted to add curtains to make the window feel larger and seem centered. I can’t believe what a huge difference it made. Table Cloth Curtains were an inexpensive and easy answer to my problem.
My kids have a thing for decorative duck tape. They love the different styles and colors and are always trying to think of new ways to use it. Zach decided he wanted to make a Duck Tape Tablet Case using the black and white mustache duck tape.
I saw some really cute twist ties at the craft store a while back. I thought they would be simple enough to make and it would be fun to customize them for gift giving and other craft projects. The DIY Twist Ties turned out great and I love the variety of styles and colors.
I saw this framed sea urchin wall art at Pottery Barn and knew I wanted to make something similar for Summer. It’s large, but at a cost of $139 it’s definitely out of my budget. The Framed Sand Dollar Wall Art is my version of this wall art, although it’s much smaller I still like the impact it has when displayed.
I like that I was able to use things I already had to make something similar but on a smaller scale. Because it’s neutral it fits in any color scheme and can be displayed all Summer long.
I struggled with getting my 4th of July decorations out this year. We had such a busy June that I never found the time to decorate the inside of the house, but I did find a little time to at least get the front porch decorated. This Patriotic Star Wreath was fast and easy to make and I love how it turned out.
I find planning and carrying out a party can be time consuming and exhausting. I like parties simple to make it easy on myself, but also appealing for my guests. These Quick 4th of July Party Ideas are the answer to simple and appealing. There are so many fun and easy ideas. Use one or use them all to make your celebration extra special.
My family loves fudge and they ask me to make it all the time, no matter the time of year. I was only making it around Christmas for some reason, but a few years ago I thought I would change the way it was made so it would fit in well with other holidays. That is how this Patriotic Fudge was born.
I love this time of year. I love decorating with red, white, and blue. I love feeling patriotic and surrounding myself with reminders of this wonderful country I live in. And another thing I really love is making projects using items I already have so I don’t have to spend any money. This Patriotic Star Art was free for me to make, but even if you don’t have all of the materials, it’s still very inexpensive.
I was thinking I would share how I’ve had my mantel decorated for the last couple of months before I share my patriotic mantel. I like to change the mantel often but this Love Joy Peace Mantel felt so comfortable that I kept it longer than usual. These colors and words give me a sense of ease and comfort and I’ve enjoyed seeing them in this space. And the bonus is, since I shopped my house, I didn’t have to pay a penny to pull this look together.
