Surprise Birthday Money

As my kids became teens they started receiving more money than gifts from friends and relatives for their birthdays. Soon they caught on to this awesome gift of money and started wanting it from us instead of gifts too. They like pooling all their birthday money together and getting something more expensive they really want. The only problem is giving money is boring. We started giving Surprise Birthday Money several years ago. Check out more fun ideas for giving money at the bottom of this post.

White Chocolate Dipped Cherries

White Chocolate Dipped Cherries are the perfect fast and delicious treat for Valentine’s Day or an anniversary. My husband loves chocolate covered cherries so I usually buy them for him every Christmas and Valentine’s Day. This year I thought I’d try something different and make these easy chocolate dipped cherries myself.

Winter Scene Mantel

With Christmas over I return to my previously simple home decor. If you are new here you need to know that I love decorating my mantel for every season, holiday, and even sometimes special events, but I also keep it pretty simple. This Winter Scene Mantel was easy to pull together using a few things I left out from Christmas.

Coca-Cola Bottle Ornaments

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Coca-Cola® and Dollar General. All opinions are 100% mine.

I first saw these aluminum Coca-Cola bottles a few years ago at a luncheon I was attending. They were so awesome and the shape was so perfect that I couldn’t just throw them away, so I took them home and turned them into vases by spray painting them and adding some twine to the top. This year when I saw that Dollar General had a Bottle Cap Topper for Coca-Cola bottles I had to have some fun and turn them into Coca-Cola Bottle Ornaments.

I love this time of year and celebrating with family and friends. It’s always fun to get together and there always seems to be food involved. Whether I’m hosting or taking a dish to another party I try to keep it delicious and simple. I love that Farm Rich Meatballs makes it easy for me to make my Gluten Free Fried Meatballs with Cranberry Cream Sauce fast and easy giving me more time to enjoy my friends and family.

Welcome Home Christmas Porch

I didn’t decorate the front porch this year as much as I usually do. Last year as soon as I decorated we started getting a lot of wind at night and I was having to gather everything and put it back on the porch every day, a couple times a day. I decided I didn’t want to redecorate every day so this year’s Welcome Home Christmas Porch is welcoming but not overly decorated.
