Welcome to Day 14 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Managing my email is something I am constantly working on. I get hundreds and hundreds of emails a days. Even with dealing with them on a daily basis I still have a hard time staying on top of all of them. With that being said I have a few tips. Set you timer for 15 minutes and let’s see how much we can get done today.
Welcome to Day 13 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
I depend on my calendar and day planner to help me keep myself and my family organized. I prefer paper but you can take care of things electronically if that’s what you prefer. I keep reoccurring events on my phone and also have several things in the notes area of my phone. Basically I prefer my day planner at home and my phone for when I’m out of the house.
Welcome to Day 12 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Let’s get the space under the kitchen sink cleaned out and organized today. This area is just a big open cavern waiting to have things tossed into it, so you need to divide the space and add shelving where needed. Don’t worry about doing that today though if you don’t have any shelving. Also, remember that you don’t have to spend a lot on organizing supplies. This shelf is actually for a school locker and costs under $5. Let’s set the timer for 15 minutes and get it done.
Welcome to Day 11 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Today we’re going to work on organizing our spices. Why do you have 3 bottles of one thing? Probably because you couldn’t find the first bottle so you bought a new one. One day I hope to have pretty jars with pretty labels but getting organized quickly is the goal, so that will have to wait for another day. Set the timer, grab some stickers or vinyl, a sharpie, and get to work.
Welcome to Day 10 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
First I want to start by saying that I hope this series is helping you get in the habit of spending 15 minutes a day to get organized. I have had a few comments about the spaces not being magazine worthy. That’s not really the point of this exercise or of being organized in general. The point is to get rid of the clutter and be able to find what you need quickly. I hope this challenge is helping you.
So set your timer and let’s work on that desk drawer today. This process is similar to organizing the junk drawer. Click on the link to be taken to the post if you missed it.
Welcome to Day 9 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Do you have a dedicated drawer in your kitchen for random items? There is a mysterious drawer in most of our kitchens called a Junk Drawer. I’m not really sure how it got that name other than people wanted an excuse to be able to throw anything they wanted to into a particular drawer. I don’t have anything against one drawer having random household items in it that don’t really belong anywhere else or are convenient to an area. The problem happens when things are just tossed in the drawer and they end up in a jumbled mess. You really can’t find what you need at that point anyway so let’s take care of that problem.
Organizing the Junk Drawer
Get your timer, the garbage can, and some small containers. Now you’re ready to tackle the Junk Drawer.
Welcome to Day 8 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Organizing Laundry Supplies
Are you ready to set your timer for 15 minutes again? I think you can get the laundry supplies organized in way under 15 minutes, but we’ll give you some extra time today. Race the clock and we’ll see how well you do. You can always use that extra time to wipe the cabinets and washer and dryer down with a damp cloth and take a quick sweep of the floor.
I love beautiful storage and blue canning jars are beautiful to me. Dryer sheets, dry soap, and clothespins are kept in these jars and in a basket on top of the dryer. I didn’t have to go out and purchase any supplies for this organizing idea. I’m big into using what I already have to get spaces organized. It saves time and money.
Welcome to Day 7 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Grab you timer again and set it for 15 minutes. You will also need to grab a garage can or bag because I have a feeling you’re going to need it. It’s time to clean out the bathroom drawers and you never know what you might find in there or how old it might be. While you’re organizing this space take a few minutes to clean out the drawers and cabinets with a damp cloth.
Welcome to Day 6 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Set your timer and get ready to get your Linen Closet organized and in tip top shape. If you feel you can’t get the whole closet in order in 15 minutes, set the timer and work on one shelf at a time. Depending on how big your closet is, it might take a little longer. As you can tell, my closet is very small.
Welcome to Day 5 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Today’s organizing challenge is super simple but will save you time from making multiple trips around the house distributing things to different rooms. You can use as many baskets, bins, or totes as you like, but if you have the space, one for each child works best. We are renting right now and short on space so the boys share one bin and our daughter gets a bin to herself. I have them by the stairs which is also by the back door. Since they slide under the bench you don’t really notice them.
