Snowy Pine Cones (4 Ways)

I’m using a lot of natural elements in Christmas crafts and decorating this year. It’s an inexpensive way to decorate but still celebrate the season in style. Combine free and natural elements with other decorations for a good balance of color and texture. I’m sharing 4 different ways make these Snowy Pine Cones. You can pick your favorite to make or make all four like I did.

Christmas Simmering Potpourri

When we lived in Florida I had a friend whose house would smell like Christmas from November through January. It always made me feel so happy and relaxed entering her house and I felt my stress melting away. Who doesn’t want that? I finally asked her why her house always smelled so amazing and she shared her recipe with me for this Christmas Simmering Potpourri. I’ve changed it a little here and there if I didn’t happen to have all the ingredients in my pantry. It’s really flexible and it smells amazing!

Christmas Tree Chalk Board Art

I’ve been wanting to try my hand at chalk board art for a while, and since I had some time to myself I thought it would be the perfect time to try something new. I love seeing beautiful chalk board art but I’m not an artist so I decided to try something a little simpler. This Christmas Tree Chalk Board Art was the perfect first attempt and it’s so easy anyone can do it. If you’re left handed it can still be done but it is a little harder. Just remember to hold your hand off the surface as you write. I’m left handed so I have experience.

3 Ingredient Shredded Pork Tacos

Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Smithfield® Marinated Fresh Pork. The opinions and text are all mine.

I love fall but it means back to school, back to sports and concerts, and back to busy nights. When the kids were younger it was so much easier to get everyone together for a family meal. With something going on every night it has become much harder to sit down as a family and eat dinner together. Sometimes we have to eat as early as 4:30 and some nights we are eating as late as 8:00 pm. I have been coming up with dinners that take very little time but are tasty and nutritious for my family. These 3 Ingredient Shredded Pork Tacos hit the spot and are perfect for my busy family. Seriously how can it get any easier than dumping 3 ingredients in the crock pot and having a delicious meal 4 hours later?

Waterless Snow Globes

There’s something so magical about snow globes, especially around Christmas. I remember being mesmerized by all the snow globes in a little Christmas shop in Indiana when I was a child. One of my daughters has always loved snow globes and is amassing a beautiful collection. These Waterless Snow Globes are my version of those Christmas snow globes I remember, only I’m recycling supplies I already had.

Wood Slice Snowman Ornament

Since I live in the desert there are very few chances for me to make a real snowman, but that doesn’t mean I can’t decorate with them. I usually save most of my snowmen to decorate with after the Christmas decorations come down and the Winter ones go up. But I’ll be adding this Wood Slice Snowman Ornament to our Christmas tree this year. It’s pretty adorable and sparkly.

Natural Christmas Wreath

I love using natural pieces in decorating when possible. The best part is that it’s free or at least really inexpensive, and you have to admit there isn’t anything more beautiful than nature. This Natural Christmas Wreath is another perfect project for a woodland or traditional Christmas theme. The wreath will last between 3-6 weeks depending on your climate, so plan for that when deciding to make it.

Wood Wrapped Candles

I have 2 resin wood look votive candle holders that I bought several years ago. It’s one of those few times I wish I would have purchased more. After years of wanting more, I thought why not make something similar. These Wood Wrapped Candles are super simple but give me the wood look I was hoping for. They will fit in perfectly with my Woodland Christmas theme this year. You can wrap your candles in any scrapbook paper to fit your theme.
