I’m sharing a fun and easy craft project today. Sometimes you just need to create something cute using supplies you already have on hand and a project that only takes a few minutes to make. I thought a Washi Tape Clipboard would be cute and perfect for back-to-school. All you need is a variety of washi tape and any size clipboard to make this cute project.

I have a large stash of washi tape that hasn’t had much action lately so I’m going to change that, starting with this little craft project. If you haven’t hopped on the washi tape bandwagon yet you might want too. Washi tape is so easy to work with and there’s so many fun projects you can make with it.

My clipboard has screws holding the clip on so the first step was to take it off. If your clipboard doesn’t have screws you can pretty easily tape around the clip area.

Decide what colors and patterns of washi tape you want to use on your clipboard. Then decide what order you want the tape to be. You can use school colors if your kids are going to be using it for homework or if you’re giving it as a teacher gift.

Wrap the tape all the way around the clipboard, overlapping it a bit in the back. Use the point of small pliers to make holes where the screws need to go back in.

Put the screws back through, but be careful not to twist the clip while you’re tightening the screws. Hold the clip in place with your other hand so it doesn’t scrap across the washi tape.

Didn’t it turn out great? It would be perfect for a student, coach, teacher, or a home office. It would be a fun project for your kids to work on too. Let them be creative and make their own.

I’m using this one to decorate for back-to-school. I made the back to school sign with school lined patterned cardstock and sticker letters. You could even use the clipboards to hold pictures in your child’s room. Do you decorate for back-to-school?
