I love the 4th of July/Independence Day. It’s my absolute favorite holiday! I feel such a sense of country and patriotism and love spending the day with my family. We always have a fun filled day and try to fill it with as much celebrating as possible. There’s always something going on but I thought it would be nice to add a little more fun to the day. Kids love scavenger hunts and marking things off so I thought a 4th of July Scavenger Hunt would be fun.
Sometimes the adults need a little down time so hopefully this 4th of July Scavenger Hunt will entertain the kids for a few minutes. Just print off the copies you need and attach them to clipboards for a flat surface. I would print them in a 4×6 or 5×7 size so a small clipboard can be used. You can attach a pencil to the board too.
How do you celebrate Independence Day? We usually start the fun with a parade in the morning, playing games and eating breakfast while waiting for it to start. I also make these 4th of July Parade Bags or something similar to entertain the kids.
Followed by fun at the park and/or swimming, or maybe even some hiking. Sometimes it depends on how much of the family we have with us as to what we plan for the day. Whether we’re swimming or hiking we’re always having a fun time.
Of course there is always plenty of food too. Like I said we usually eat breakfast waiting for the parade and then have a picnic lunch. Dinner is usually a barbecue at home with plenty of snack food throughout the day. It isn’t a day for dieting around here.
And don’t forget fireworks. We always get there early so we can snack on more food, play games, and light sparklers. I love this day but my favorite part is spending it with my favorite people!
I love the idea of adding the scavenger hunt to keep the kids entertained while we get everything ready for the next activity. Print it off to add to your day of celebration.
