My 4th of July decorations are lacking, so I’ve come up with a few quick, easy and inexpensive ideas I could make and put up quickly. This is the first one I completed for the Entry.
First, I found the paper I wanted to use in my paper stash and cut each piece 4 1/2″ square.
Next I drew 2 lines from corner to corner to use as my cutting guide.
Cut along the lines but stop about 1/2″ from the center.
I used a tiny hole punch to puch the holes for the brad. Some of my paper was thick and it worked better than trying to poke it through with the brad. Punch only one hole in each triangle and the center.
Poke the brad through each hole one at a time.
Then poke it through the center and secure the pinwheel with the brad.
By drawing the X on different sides of the paper, I came up with 2 different looks out of one piece of paper. I did it with paper that was only white on the one side also.
Here they are all finished. It took less than an hour to make all of them.
I attached them to twine with tiny clothespins.
And hung them on the banister. So cute!
The polka dots and flowers are my favorites. I’ll show you the rest of the Entry when I finish my other quick projects.
Hey! I’m making pinwheels for the 4th (unless I run out of time!) 😉 Yours are adorable. I would have never thought of making a banner with them, super cute!
This is adorable !! love it !

That is so cute Leanne!! Be sure to link up at the red, white, and blue challenge on the CSI project tomorrow!!
Love this! So cute!
SO CUTE! Love the papers!
I love it! So inexpensive, cute and easy 🙂 I’m going to borrow your idea for my 4th of July BBQ. Thanks!
The pinwheels alone are adorable (love that red, white, and blue paper!), but I LOVE the way you used clothespins to make a banner/garland with them. Definitely bookmarking this one, since I’ve been intending to make pinwheels with my son.
You are just AMAZING! Everytime I click over to something super cool from a linky…it’s yours! 🙂
I LOVE this! I’m squeezing in time to make one!
Thanks for sharing the great tutorial too!

I LOVE the banner. Now I have to go get some paper and get busy. Thanx. Kelli
This looks awesome! I feel so unprepared for the 4th, but I will definitely have to try some of your ideas next year! Have a great day! ~Andrea

Great use for pinwheels! Very cute!
So festive and simple! *Runs to find paper*
Cute!!!! I’ve yet to try making pinwheels. But I am going to someday.
That looks so festive! Such a simple idea, with great effect, great job!
I adore your patriotic spirit. It is red, white and bluetiful!
I hope you will stop by for a bbq on a white tablecloth. 🙂
That sure is cute! And it looks easy enough to make. Hopefully it will turn out better for me than the patriotic stars that I saw on Martha Stewart and just tried making. I have to make another trip to Hobby Lobby for more paper, so I’m going to buy enough to make these pinwheels too. Wish me luck!
Happy 4th!

p.s. I’m here from the Stars and Stripes Party! Nice to meet you!
Love this simple and creative idea. We don’t celebrate 4th July here, but could easily use this idea for any party. Saving this link for future reference!
Thanks for sharing.
What a great idea to attach the pinwheels to twine and make a banner. I’m going to make this too. I love it and thank-you for all those other links to July 4th parties.
Your patriotic pinwheels are so very cute and look perfect hanging on your stair rails. I love all the pretty papers you chose to make them from.
Very pretty pinwheels. Good tutorial.

I love this idea! I am going to feature it on the 4th of July! Thanks for sharing,
Steph
Very cute! I’ve got such a ridiculous paper collection that I could probably make a whole banner and not have any duplicates–yikes! Now I’m just trying to think of a way to do without your adorable mini clothespins that I don’t have…
