I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. Mine started with going to Church with the family. Our Ward gave a tomato plant and a pepper plant to each woman. I think I’ll add an onion and a few herbs to the pot for a salsa garden and then stick it on the back deck, close to the kitchen.
My family did good in the gift giving area. They know I love clocks and any of you who’ve followed my blog for a while know how much I love them too. The married kids gave me this incredible clock. Whitney has a clock almost this and whenever I visit I’m always tempted to bring it home with me. Isn’t it awesome? I’m trying to decide where to put it.
Amanda gave me a beautiful book I’m excited to read. I love reading before I go to sleep and it will also look pretty on my nightstand.
The whole family gave me flowers to plant outside. My favorite thing to do in the Summer is play in the dirt. I don’t even mind weeding. I love planting, tilling, weeding, raking, but I don’t mow. That’s hubby’s job! I wanted pink, purple and yellow in the flower beds this year. Hubby found pink and purple, but no yellow. I think I’ll look for yellow day lilies later. As soon as it stops raining, I’ll be out planting.
The kids have a green house at their elementary school. They start growing plants in the winter to sell for Mother’s Day and other fundraisers. Ammon and Emilee both bought a marigold for me. How cute is that?
Zachary made a sun catcher for me in his school class. I hung it on the trellis in the side yard. He picked my favorite color ribbon.
Some more fun things the kids made for me.
Hubby made teriyaki pork chops, vegetables, rice and sourdough bread for dinner. And look what we had for dessert. It was store bought, not homemade, but very yummy.
I was even able to take a nap. I haven’t had a nap for months. It was great! My family went all out, it was a beautiful day.
Sounds like a great mothers day!
Looks like a great day! But you are a great mom and deserve it!
What a wonderful Mother’s Day. I got that same book and cannot wait to read it.
Hi Leanne, so nice to meet you. Sounds like a wonderful day. Plants and food and family – you can’t go wrong! LOL
