Peek Through Last Week (May 2-8)

Sunday- Do you see the date? It’s May 2nd and it’s snowing. Not just a little, a lot. I’m visiting Whitney and Ty and baby Maddux in Cedar City. Just about 50 miles south of us in St. George it’s warm weather and sunny skies. Spring in Utah can be crazy. This is the snow coming down in Whitney and Ty’s backyard.

Monday- You’re not going to believe the difference one day makes. It’s 70 degrees today and all the snow has melted. Since it’s so nice out, we decided to take Maddux on his first outing to Chili’s. Since daddy, Ty, works at Chili’s everyone wanted to see baby Maddux. He slept all through lunch and even slept through going to Wal-Mart and another store. He did amazing on his first outing and his mommy was happy to get out of the house too.

Tuesday- Visiting Whitney, Ty and baby Maddux was so fun. Whitney took one of her Finals the day she went into labor. What a trooper! She’s checking her grades on line, after feeding baby Maddux. She has a 4.0 this term. She finished with her Bachelors and Teaching Certification, now she needs to complete her Student Teaching in the Fall. She’s learning balance with a new baby and other responsibilities. I left for home this afternoon.

Wednesday- Ammon was so excited to show me the plant he planted at school while I was gone. It’s a sunflower. He helped Amanda plant her’s last year and is so excited to have one of his own. I told him when it got a little bigger we could plant it outside. Hopefully we’ll be able to plant it later this week.

Thursday- Wow, I don’t think I’ll ever catch up this week. I was gone for 5 days then I came home to a really busy week. Volunteering at the Jr. High, running the kids around, doctors appointments, meetings, and so on. Things like the dishes and dusting take a backseat to other, more important things. So this is what my sink looks like today.

Friday- I’ve been working on Teacher Appreciation Week at the Jr. High everyday this week. Today, it ran into the time Ammon was getting out of Kindergarten, so he had to come along. Spencer’s mom was helping too and they’re in the same Kindergarten class so they were able to play together for a while. They got pretty full on junk food. Popcorn, 2 mini candy bars, chewy bar and fruit snacks. At least they only had water to drink. Yeah, they’re dressed in the same shirt and pants too, but that wasn’t planned.

Saturday- As I was writing in my day planner it made me realize how much I use these pens everyday. I color coordinate everything in my planner. Kids activities, birthdays, my responsibilities, hubby’s responsibilities, bill due dates, etc. I depend on these pens a lot to help me coordinate and schedule my day.

Hopefully this week is a little slower paced!
