I’m visiting my daughter, her husband and their 3 little cuties in Canada this week. Since I took some pictures of my other daughter’s home a few weeks ago I thought I’d do the same here. They’ve lived in their home for about 6 years and are now finishing their basement. They’ve been able to add a family room, playroom, guest bedroom, another bathroom, mudroom, a single car garage and a lot of storage areas.
Here’s some of the playroom. The wall color was picked by Benjamin. He calls it Sunshine Yellow.
She organized the toys in totes she bought at the dollar store and then put pictures of the toys on the front. Now visitors (like me) can help the boys put their toys away in the right places.
This is their arts and crafts area. The table and chairs are about 16 years old and came from a relative. The area to the left is for dress-ups.
The cute smiley totes on the shelves hold crayons, chalk, paint, paint brushes, paper, markers and play-doh. The shelves are from Ikea and the totes from the dollar store. To the right of this area is the easel.
The floor is wood so they placed a play mat on top and a car rug for the boys to play with.
This is Sebastien’s new room. It was the study before and just painted white then. Traci painted it this pretty blue. They’ve used this crib for all 3 boys.
Here’s where Sebastien’s hang up clothes and extra blankets are kept.
And more clothes and accessories are stored in these drawers in the changing table. Diapers, wipes and bath necessities are kept in the totes.
Here are some recent pictures of Benjamin and Julien. Traci took them at the park of the boys playing different sports. They’re hanging in their bedroom on the wall across from the beds.
Stephane made the beds and attached the slide to the top bunk. The boys room was just recently painted too and they added the chair rail then.
He had already made Julien’s little bed for Benjamin a few years before. The bed has 4 drawers under it (2 on each side) and there’s another dresser, to the left of this picture, for Benjamin’s clothes.
We made a fort yesterday with the blankets. This is a great bed for forts.
I bought these pillows for Traci for her birthday.
They are to go on their new sectional in their family room. They still need to put up the ceiling and put on the baseboards and window casings, then the room will be done. Traci can then start worrying about the accessories.
So that’s part of their cute house. It’s been fun to be able to visit here and spend time with the grandkids. Here’s another picture. And more good news, the sun came out for a few minutes today! I guess the sun really does shine in Canada.
Have a Beautiful Weekend!
