Tic Tac Toe Hearts

I’m so glad I bought a few of these little divided boxes at Dollar Tree last Spring. I knew I’d eventually use them. I bought the heart ornaments last year and they fit perfectly into the squares. They would be cute just placed in the box and put on display, but I had another idea.

I started by taking the hooks off the back of the box so it would sit flat.

Then I decided to paint it Spa Blue (mostly because I already had it in my craft room) but I do love red and blue together.

What a pretty color. It reminds me of warm weather, not the bone chilling cold weather we have right now. I debated whether to sand the edges or not. I still might sand it later.

I used my Cricut to cut some x’s and o’s out of shelf paper, then adhered them to the hearts.

My kids love playing tic tac toe, so I knew this would be the perfect thing to make.

And it looks cute while it’s not being played.

I decided to put it on the little table between the 2 chairs, so anyone could play when the mood strikes them.

Another free craft/game by just using things I already have in my craft room. What can you make with things you already have?

That is very cute and quite stylish. I wouldn’t have thought to do this. I like boxes too.

This is really cute! I have the same hearts from Hobby Lobby as well as some glittered hearts and am using them as filler in my apothecary jar, but I love this idea! Thank you for sharing! 🙂

That is darling! I went to my dollar store to see if they have anything like that box, but I had no luck. Although I don’t think it would be too hard to make. And you’re right, blue and red are beautiful colors together, and not something I see often

That is so clever. And how lucky to find ornaments that fit perfectly. Now I’m going to be on the lookout for those at the dollar store.
