Sunday- I was finally able to convince everyone it was time to start watching Christmas movies. I really wanted to watch Miracle on 34th Street but was voted down. We watched The Santa Clause and Jingle All The Way. Then we watched Night at the Museum, not a Christmas movie, but really good.
Monday- We were getting ready to play Clue, but the kids decided it would be fun to pose like their playing pieces first. Can you guess who they are?
Tuesday- We were suppose to get the storm of the century. I don’t know if it was predicted to be that bad, but it was suppose to be pretty bad. We did have horrible winds before the snow started. It blew the tarps covering the RV’s (I’ll have to tell you the story about the RV’s one day) all over the place. Hubby had to go out in the snow storm to secure them down. This is the beginning of the storm.
Wednesday- Even though it was only 9 degrees, the kids couldn’t resist playing in the fresh snow. Parker was here for Thanksgiving so he joined the kids outside. He wore Ammon’s old snow boots and gloves and 2 jackets to keep warm. They actually stayed out longer than I thought they would. As soon as they stepped in the door they were asking for hot cocoa.
Thursday- Thanksgiving day! I love Thanksgiving! We watched the parade and the dog show while getting food ready for dinner. Since hubby’s parents were hosting, we didn’t have a lot to bring. Hubby made his awesome mashed potatoes. They’re awesome because they’re made with 4 sticks of butter and 2 cans of evaporated milk (not a diet food, but oh so yummy). We also brought noodles, cranberry salsa and chips. I made 2 pumpkin pies, cherry pie, and apple and cranberry pie for later. Whitney, Ty, Maddux, Chris, Emily, Parker, and Ella came up later. Emily also brought over a chocolate pie. We ate pies and watched movies. What a great day!
Friday- My boys are bored. They need to go back to school. We’re on year round school and they’ve been home the whole month of November. Way too long when it’s too cold to play outside for hours. They entertain themselves and me and hubby by coming up with strange things to show us. They always make me laugh.
Saturday- I think we’ve played Clue 3 days this week. It’s fun playing it with the kids, but Ammon still has a hard time grasping the concept. Sometimes he shows the wrong card or asks about the same clue over and over again. Oh well, he’ll get better at it and beat all of us one day.
Just a side note: Hubby has a little part time job he’s working on right now and another part time job in the works starting this week. Not a full time job with insurance and benefits, but every little bit helps and we’ll be able to make the house payment this month. Yay! Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it more than you ever know.
I’m so glad he found a couple part-time things! that’s great!
It looks like you guys had a great Thanksgiving and are enjoying the season. I love this time of year! I haven’t watched a Christmas movie yet, but maybe I will tonight 🙂
I love your pictures! You have a cool family and I’m so glad your husband has some part time work. It’s such a relief when you know the bills can get paid.
I’d love to hear more about your year round school. Is it a home school program? I’m very interested in it 😛
