Sunday– Our Ward is working on a service project to make teddy bears for some kids in Guatemala. I cut out some of the bears today. Some others are going to stuff and sew them. The Young Women are going to be taking them to girls camp to finish them up by sewing on their eyes, nose, and mouth. We made some bunnies too.
Monday– Memorial Day! It was a pretty cold and rainy day with a few patches of sunshine here and there. We went to cemetery and brought flowers to Lyn and Jody’s grave. We’ve been wanting to have a picnic but the weather just wasn’t cooperating so we had an indoor picnic in the living room. We spread 2 blankets out on the floor, watched Gnomeo & Juliet, and ate KFC. The kids thought it was really fun.
Tuesday– Ammon plays baseball on Tuesday and Thursday. He loves playing catcher but his coach puts him on 1st or 3rd base a lot. This is his first year of machine pitch. He’s getting better. He hits most of them now and he loves running the bases.
Wednesday– Zach plays baseball on Wednesday and Friday. This is his 6th season playing baseball. He really loves it. He’s playing 3rd base in this picture and he’s on the Angels this year.
Thursday– I had my hair cut and colored today. I love having my hair done. Heidi is my hair stylist and she’s amazing. She gives the best head massages too. I think I almost fall asleep every time I’m in her chair. Isn’t she cute. If you live in Syracuse, she’s at Mild to Wild. Tell her I sent you.
Friday– Today is Amanda and Emilee’s last day of school. Yay for them. Boo for the boys. Since we’re on year round school the boys still have a month of school left. I know I’ve said this before but I dispise year round school. The girls had a great last day. Actually Amanda never went to school today. She had a sleepover at our house last night with a few friends and then ate breakfast at another friends house this morning. Emilee went to school to get her yearbook then went to lunch and watched a movie at a friend’s house.
Saturday– Today was the big yard sale. It was so busy all day. Whitney and Ty came over to sell a few things and helped the whole day. We sold so much stuff and I made my money goal. I’m excited to start making some improvements on our home with the money. We still have quite a bit left and there’s more I want to sell so I’ll be having another yard sale in a couple weeks. We were really tired after the sale so we vegged for a while, ate dinner, and made smores. It was such a nice day. Oh, hubby, Ty, Zach, and Emilee went golfing in the afternoon too.
I was excited to see you are doing a service project for kids in Guatemala. Our son is a missionary serving there right now 🙂 Thanks for helping the people there. They don’t have much of anything, so I know they will greatly appreciate it.
Be sure to tell all the girls how much their work will be appreciated.
🙂 So excited that you are doing something for the children of my nation. My heart breaks every time I see the need those babies have. My country desperately needs caring hands to show them love. Those teddy bears might be the only toy they will ever have. My eyes are tearing up, just thinking about them. May God bless you guys for doing this!
