Sunday– One of our favorite things to do on Sunday is play games. We have a few favorites the whole family can play but one of my favorites is “Apples to Apples”. Whitney, Ty, and Maddux were over for dinner so they played with us too. Ammon decided he was old enough to play by himself (and he was.) He did really well.
Monday– Zach’s baseball team tried to have a make-up game today because of all of the rain we had last week. Yeah, that didn’t turn out so well. They got rained out again. They were half way through the 1st inning and it started pouring, then blowing, then hailing. The ref called the game and everyone ran to their cars as fast as they could. What a wet mess. I’m not sure they’ll ever make-up the missed games.
Tuesday– Ammon’s teacher started a new thing with their class this week called “Show and Teach day”. Each child is assigned a day then they decide what they want to teach the class. It can be anything (a recipe, sports trick, magic trick, craft, etc.) They make something at home then explain it to the class or teach them how to make it. They have 4 minutes to share it with the class and they practice at home before they present it at school. Ammon was so excited to teach the class how to draw an alligator.
Hmmm, do you know how to draw an alligator?
Yes, I draw really good alligators with big mouths.
Okay, let me see.
So there you go. And he taught the class how to draw an alligator on the dry erase board.
Wednesday– Adam bought another motorcycle. I can already tell you something bad is going to happen. Hubby decided to give all the kids a ride. The first 2 rides went well then Emilee got on. As she was trying to get off her calf touched the exhaust pipe and she now has a burn 1 1/2″x3″. I did cold compresses for the first hour then treated it and covered it. The next day the skin around the outside was dead and turning brown which means it has to be taken off. So I called my nurse friend Sarah. She is so sweet and came over to take it off so she could make my daughter cry and I didn’t have too. It’s looking better but I’m having to take more skin off daily. Since Emilee wanted to make cookies before we took the dead skin off, we paid Sarah in cookies for her nursing services.
Thursday– Emilee tried out for the Jr. High Talent Show a few weeks ago and today was the day she performed. I seriously don’t know where my kids get their guts from. I would have never done that. To perform in front of the whole Jr. High would have terrified me. My kids are amazing! She sang and it was beautiful. She looked nervous but you couldn’t tell by her voice. Amanda came over from the high school to watch her sister sing. What a great support. Amanda sang and played the guitar in the Seminary Talent Show today too. Really, my kids are talented and I love that they aren’t scared to share it with others.
Friday– How sweet! My boys walked home from school today and picked these from the field they walk by. Isn’t that so sweet? They were thinking of me and how much I’d love flowers as they were walking home. After they jumped in mud puddles, stopped by the dentist office to get a drink of water, and were 10 minutes late, that is.
Saturday– Let’s see what did we do today? Cleaned out the garage, rearranged the bedroom, took down pictures, filled holes, put up pictures in other places, washed walls, washed floors, hung up hubby’s guitar holder that’s been sitting in the drawer since March, kid’s chores, cleaned basement, found more things for the yard sale, laundry, and movie. I love Saturdays!
