Sunday– A package was by my door when we got home from church. I saw that it was from Pottery Barn and almost screamed with excitement. There was a sweet note attached to it from an anonymous friend. How generous is this beautiful shelf? I have some truly wonderful and thoughtful friends. Thank you to whoever gave me this beautiful shelf. I hope I will be able to do something kind for you in the future. I’ll have pictures once I put it up in my bedroom.
Monday– We’re reading our scriptures everyday at dinner time. It’s the easiest time for our family to get together to read. It’s been a lot easier to stay on track and keep up on our reading with this schedule.
Tuesday– Today is Amanda’s 16th birthday. Sixteen is such a big deal! What an exciting age. She loves her birthday being in December, because the house is always decorated so pretty.
Wednesday– Amanda passed her drivers ed. test today. Yay, Amanda! I’m still scared to drive with her though. Maybe in a few weeks I’ll feel more secure with her in the drivers seat.
Thursday– Emilee’s in girls choir at the Jr. High. They had their Christmas program tonight. Each choir sang 3 songs. Emilee wants to try out for the advanced choir next year. Her choir teacher is really fun and all the kids like him. Amanda also takes guitar from him after school.
Friday– The boys and hubby got their hair cut today. Pat lives right across the street from us and has a salon in her basement. The boys love getting their hair cut and playing with the toys while they wait their turn. Pat cuts hair for a lot of the people in our neighborhood. She gave the boys candy canes and chocolate for Christmas.
Saturday– Amanda had her friend birthday party today. I wanted to have it on Friday but apparently Saturday is party night. Her best friend, Amanda (funny, huh?) made brownies for her and Amanda’s mom frosted them. They ate pizza, chips, and drank soda. They played board games, foosball, and air hockey. It looked like they were all having a fun time and didn’t pay much attention to the parental supervision. They’re a good bunch of kids. The party was from 7-11 and they were all picked up or gone from 11. Good parents too!
I have been checking out your blog for a while now, LOVE IT! Just stopped to say…oddly enough, your daughter and I share a name AND a birthday!! Happy (belated) birthday from one Amanda to another.
