Peek Through Last Week (April 18-24)

Sunday- I love the mountains in the Spring. It’s starting to warm up in the valley, but you can still enjoy skiing or snowboarding in the mountains. Plus they look beautiful against everything turning green in the valley. The snow seems to be melting slowly this Spring. Good for not flooding in the valley, bad for early girls camps. A few years ago we had girls camp in early June and it snowed on us for 2 days.

Monday- Do you recognize these bottles? They’re at Favoli’s. Every Monday we go out to eat as a family. The kids really look forward to it. We try to go to different restaurants so there’s a good varietyof what everyone likes to eat. The kids love the dessert breadsticks here.

Tuesday- Zach had baseball drafts today. They gave them a number to stick on their back and then divided them into 3 groups to bat, catch grounders and catch pop flys. Zach started out with the batting, then pop flys and grounders. It lasted about 1 1/2 hours and he did really well. It was way better organized this year than last. He had his first practice Saturday. His same coaches from last year picked him up this year. I’m really glad. They were good coaches and taught him a lot.

Wednesday- This is Ammon’s gladiator helmet. If there’s an empty box in the house, he wants to make something from it. Today it was a helmet. He’s made houses, shields, swords, castles and guns in the past. You can tell by the box that we only eat the most nutritious food in our house.

Thursday- So many days of rain and snow lead us to the indoor playground at Arctic Circle. The boys were able to run around and get some of their energy out. There comes a time when I don’t care what the food taste like, I just need the boys to stop jumping on the furniture and take them somewhere else to jump and play. Can you guess from their clothes they wanted to be spys today?

Friday- All the rain has produced some beautiful blossoms on the trees. I have 2 new trees to plant this year. They were broke in half  last year by strong winds. This pear tree is the only one I have left on this side of the house. The other 2 were peach trees, that I miss terribly. Another plus from the rain, our grass is really green now too.

Saturday- Now our Saturday mornings consist of soccer games and baseball practices. Ammon has soccer and Zach has baseball. Here’s Ammon during his half time break enjoying his orange slice. It took him the whole break to eat just this one. It is much harder without 2 front teeth.

Spring is finally here and I can’t wait till we can spend most of our time outside enjoying the great weather and sunshine.
