Organizing the Kitchen (part 2)

These 4 drawers are between the stove and refrigerator and are about half the size as the other drawers, on the other side of the kitchen. This drawer wasn’t too bad so I just added 2 more baskets and rearranged the utensils a bit.

This is how it looks now.

The next drawer is for towels and pot holders.

The 3rd drawer is for plastic plates, bowls, cups, and utensils so the younger kids can reach in and get things themselves. Since the refrigerator is right next door it’s super simple for them to grab a cup and get a drink of water.

These dried up play-dohs and over used coloring books got thrown away.

Now the bottom drawer looks like this.

The cabinet next to the microwave holds mixing bowls, food storage bowls, and measuring bowls.

The cabinet above the refrigerator is hard to get to without a stool, so I put seldom used items up there: party and barbecue items, vases, and Christmas plates.

This is what was removed from that cabinet, Easy bake oven and accessories

and Christmas items that haven’t been used for 2 years.

That’s 12 more items to add to the yard sale and 164 items all together now. It feels so good to get rid of things I don’t use that are just taking up valuable space in my home.

Leanne, I finally got to check out your website! Maybe it will inspire me since I still have your list from 2 years ago and have maybe crossed off one thing. Your house looks so cute in real life and in your pics. So close at Bunco, I was rooting for ya! Better luck next time!

By the way I love the gingerbread man dish, let me know if you end up ebaying that little guy. 🙂

Oh my, paint and scissors in the bottom drawer? You ARE brave, LOL!

My life got so much simpler after I moved the cups to kid level (ours are in the pantry.)

Great job; been reading your other organizing posts. Just when you think you’ve decluttered; there’s always more! I regularly go through our clothes, and the kitchen cabinets, too. I don’t have that many clothes, either.

i love how you really show that most of organization is getting rid of things or moving things that aren’t used anymore or in that area! so true! i found the same issue when i was organizing our pantry, & i’m already “looking forward” to what i’ll find in the rest of the cabinets!

I love how organized your kid’s stuff is. I organized my kids’ stuff while I was organizing my kitchen. It’s been two days and the crayons and markers are all mixed up again 🙂

    Leanne,
You are so organized! Everything looks so great!
I love that you have the plates and utensils low for the kids to reach. Brilliant!
Thanks for linking up to my party!
    Blessings,
    Traci
