It’s the holiday season which means you’ll probably be entertaining at least once in the next few weeks. Here are 8 Last Minute Place Cards to make for your holiday dinner table.
I like to give the older kids or young adults a project especially if they’re acting bored. These only take a few minutes each and are a great project for those who aren’t preparing the meal. They can even make them while they’re watching a parade or a game.
Last Minute Place Cards
Billy Ball Place Cards – These place cards look beautiful in any season. Change the color of the ribbon and stamp ink to fit the occasion or season. You could also place them in a tiny vase and attach the tag with twine wrapped around the vase.
Mini Pumpkin Place Cards – The mini white pumpkins look elegant and simple at the same time. They’re perfect for your Thanksgiving table or change it to a pomegranate or pear for Christmas.
I use these little tags often for place cards or even gift tags. You can usually find them in the office supply area of any general department store. Add a stamp pad and small stamps and you have everything you need for quick and easy tags.
Scrabble Tile Place Cards – It’s fun to use game pieces for quick place settings especially at the kids table. If you don’t have enough of the holders you can just lay the tiles curved around the top or side of the plate. You can usually pick up extra scrabble tiles at any thrift store.
Berry Place Cards – Use berries or any other plant life from your yard or garden to make these place cards. Cut card stock into small squares then fold them to stand on the plate. Stamp or write the person’s name on the front of the card. Then punch 2 small holes in the card stock and slide the berry stem through the holes.
Pinecone Place Cards – If you find the pinecones in nature make sure to bake them at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes to get rid of pests. You should always be safe just using the ones from a store. Stamp a little tag with a name and just place it in the pinecone.
Animal Place Cards – Purchase different animals from the dollar store and simply wrap a tag around the neck. I just used initials this time instead of the full name. These are especially cute at a kids table.
Clothespin Place Cards – Stamp the clothespin with a name then attach the cutout leaf to the clothespin. I left a space on the leaf so each person can write what they’re thankful for. You could attach a Santa hat or a gingerbread man for Christmas.
Chalk Paper Place Mats – Have each person decorate their own place mat or make them general and have each person fill their mat out. Write their name at the top or bottom of each plate.
I have a few more ideas for quick place cards I haven’t tried yet:
Use a chalk marker and write names on ornaments
Attach a name tag to holiday shaped chocolates
A small personal gift with a tag attached
