This past weekend we were in Wyoming for the Jackson Hole Scottish Festival. A cold front had come through so it was pretty chilly up there for August. It was chilly last year too, so this year we were prepared with jackets and extra blankets. Emilee did really well in the Dance Competition. Two first places and one third place. Isn’t she the cutest little dancer ever?
I love this picture! She reminds me of Wendy on Peter Pan. She’s the one on the left.
Getting one of her metals:
The boys had fun too, but maybe a little too much violence in one day. First there was this:
Then we thought wouldn’t it be a great idea to hand them swords and let them try to stab each other. At least we made sure their heads were protected.
Then since we were in Jackson we had to watch a gun fight and then of course the boys wanted new guns (because they can never have enough guns). I know, I’m a great Mom!
You know how us Mom’s are the picture takers and never in any pictures. This is the only picture of me on this trip. Hand me the award for Mom of the Year now!
We look forward to going again next year. It’s a beautiful area with lots of fun things to see and do. Great restaurants too.
Festivals like Jackson Hole Scottish give more than fun and sweet memories; they build family bonds.
