I know it’s not even Halloween yet, but I wanted to get started on making Thanksgiving decorations. This was so super easy. I just took brown double fold bias tape, these awesome letter cards I found in a craft store (I’m sorry, I don’t remember which one) and small clothespins.
Just slide the card in the fold of the tape and clip it in place with a clothespin. Because I used the clothespins to hold the cards in place, I can take it apart after Thanksgiving and use the cards for another project or another holiday banner.
Simple, inexpensive, versatile and quick (under 5 minutes). That’s my idea of a great decorating project.
Added November 1: I got a comment from Briana saying she saw the alphabet cards at Jo Ann’s. Yes, that’s where I got them. I have the worst memory or I go to too many craft stores. I think it’s both.
Cuteness! I bought some of those mini clips, but I can’t find where I put them. Now I have the motivation to go find them :o)
Lovely idea and banner. Looks great and is still easy!

Very nice… giving thanks is always important!
Simple & sweet — I love it!
I think I saw some letters like that at Jo Ann. Very cute! I’m going to make one.
Great idea for a banner — fast, easy, inexpensive, and the letters can be moved around to create different words for another banner 🙂

I love this banner!! Now I’m on the hunt to find some cool letters!!
I love those cards… Do they have a company name on them anywhere so we could search online for a location maybe?
Those are awesome! I love that you can take them apart and use it for another banner or a different project. So cute!
Oh that’s such a great idea!
I have linky party going on if you’d like to link up (Maybe you’ll be first!!) http://theshadesofpink.blogspot.com/2009/11/room-month-bookshelves.html
I am totally copying this idea! I bought those exact letter cards at a garage sale for $1 this past summer and they’ve been sitting on my craft shelf since then because I haven’t been able to think of what to do with them. Hooray for my creative aunt! 🙂
