We had our annual neighborhood Trunk-or-Treat Party with dinner and games. The kids and I decorated the back of the van earlier in the day with bats, mice, skeletons, tomb stones, spiders, webs, crows, eyeballs, a tree, roses and a chandelier. Here’s what it looked like:
I think it’s just the right amount of spooky for younger kids.
Cute spiders!
First we ate chili, breadsticks and a brownie for dinner and then played games.

The trunk-or-treat should have been held outside, but a storm had come in and the temperature had really dropped. So this is what it looked like instead:
Adults sat in chairs around the gym and the kids walked around the room collecting candy:
Not quite the same, but the kids had fun anyway and they weren’t cold:
So, who got to see the back of the van? Just you and the family. So sad, it was pretty cute. Maybe next year.
I’m thinking we should move Halloween to the 3rd week of October (at least in Utah). We always have really nice Fall weather until then, and then BOOM, it’s winter. It’s hard to enjoy trick-or-treating when you can’t feel your fingers and toes and you can’t stop shivering.
