As I was making my bed the other morning, I realized I have a lot of different patterns going on in my room. But they all blend well together because of scale and color. I limited the colors in my room to black, white and green. I wanted pattern, but also wanted to feel relaxed and not overstimulated while in my room. Here’s what fabrics I used.
Duvet Cover from Ikea

Pillow covers from Ikea

Pillow from Jo-Ann’s

Fabric for pillows from Jo-Ann’s

Fabric for pillows from Jo-Ann’s

Fabric for pillows from Hancock Fabrics

Fabric for chair seat from Hobby Lobby

Valance from Target

Hat boxes from Hobby Lobby

Light switch cover I made here

File folders from Wal-Mart

Would you have that much going on in your room? It’s actually very relaxing because of limiting the colors used. Now I just need to paint the furniture. I’m thinking black with maybe one white piece. I’ll be painting the walls too. What do you think?

I love colors together! The fabric are beautiful! Great job.
I have black and white toile too, with check and plaid. I used red as my accent color, and just painted my room “gentle cream” by B. Moore.
I think your headboard would look great in black!
I love that apple green and black combo-and the amount of patterns used work. Can’t wait to see walls and furniture painted!
LOVE IT!! I’m getting ready to do my daughter’s room in black/white and pink, so it’s nice to see that lots of different patterns can work well with each other as long as the range of colors is limited. I’m so excited to get started and now am even less nervous about what the end result may be!! Thanks for sharing!
I like the fresh green with black and white, and you’ve chosen a really fun mix of prints! Thanks for linking up! Have a good day…
No problem at all with all these patterns, as you’ve done a great job in keeping the colors consistent! Nice look…
I came over from PK’s linky party!
