Fabric Covered Diaper Boxes – 31 Days of Organizing and Cleaning Hacks

Fabric Covered Diaper Boxes for decorative storage in the home.

I like to recycle and reuse items whenever possible. And who doesn’t like saving money? So it just made sense to turn these diaper boxes into useful and decorative storage for our home. Start by cutting the top flaps off. I love that there are already handles so I don’t have to cut them in.

I chose plain fabric for the inside, it’s actually a fabric drop cloth. Cut a piece of the fabric to fit the bottom of the box. Use spray adhesive to adhere it to the box.

Cut a piece of fabric to fit inside the box and be able to overlap a couple inches. Use the spray adhesive on one side at a time and smooth the fabric as you go. Most adhesive is repositionable for a short time before it becomes permanent so you have time to make sure it’s smooth and in place.

Cut the fabric around the top of the box to the same height as the box.

Cut the fabric out of the handles. It doesn’t have to be perfect because the outside fabric will cover it.

Now cut the fabric to fit around the outside of the box. Make sure to add 4-6 inches to the height of the box for the fabric to fold unto the bottom of the box and over the top of the box. I used pinking shears so the fabric wouldn’t fray and the edge looked finished. Use adhesive spray to adhere it to the outside of the box. Cut out the handle area and adhere it to the inside of the box as shown below.

Finish the bottom of the box as shown. Add a final piece of fabric to cover the bottom of the box to finish it off. Use fabric to coordinate with your home for inexpensive decorative storage boxes.
