I’m participating in Living With Lindsay’s $5 Challenge.
Supplies: Wood Candlesticks- Dilly Dally’s – $1.00 each
Nests- Dilly Dally’s- 6 for $1.00, so .50 cents
Eggs- 2 for $1.00, so $1.50
Glass Candlestick- Dollar Tree- $1.00
Here’s the spray paint I already had on hand. I really wanted a pink egg, but I didn’t have any pink spray paint so I made do with what I had.
I used some cheap-o white spray paint for the primer. It took a few coats because the red color on the eggs didn’t want to get covered up. Luckily the eggs had a hole in the bottom, so I stuck them on dowels to be painted.
The painted eggs drying. I painted the candlesticks heirloom white at the same time, but forgot to take a picture.
Once they were dry, I used hot glue to attach the nest to the candlestick and the egg to the nest.
The purple and blue eggs are shiny because I used spray paints for plastic. I like the look though.
I love how spray paint changes the look so drastically and brings out all the detail on the candlesticks and eggs.
I’m not sure where their home is yet. Maybe on the window sill.
Pretty good for a grand total of $5.00. Thanks for the challenge Lindsay!

i love that you spray painted that dollar store candle stick. i bought two b/c everyone else was and didn’t want them to be sold out when i finally found a glass jar to make an apothecary jar. it makes a really big difference painted, so thanks for the idea. was it difficult to do, or did you have to use a special spraypaint for glass? i’m new at this whole crafting thing…

Those are darling and I had no idea they had spray paint just for plastic. Thanks for sharing the information on the paint as now I am going to paint a few more things that need a new face lift.
