Backyard Hot Dog Bar

A Backyard Hot Dog Bar is an easy and delicious meal that is sure to please the whole family. #MasterSummer This post is sponsored by Tyson, Unilever and Ball Park buns but all words and ideas are my own.

Fun and Easy Backyard Hot Dog Bar for Summer Grilling

We’re fortunate to live in an area that has good grilling weather most of the year. We prefer cooking outdoors as opposed to heating up the kitchen, especially during the warmer months. I also prefer quick and easy meals that I know my family will eat without any hassle. Serving one main thing but giving my family a lot of options have seemed to be the key to pleasing everyone lately.

Hot Dog Bar setting up

This Hot Dog Bar is an easy way to give everyone what they want with minimal prep and effort. You don’t even have to label the spoons for family members but it adds a nice touch for larger gatherings. It’s always good to know what you’re about to eat.

A favorite condiment of mine is this easy to make Spicy Mayo. There are only 2 ingredients and it adds a special little kick to your hot dog and other meat dishes. I even like it on french fries. Mix 1/2 cup of Hellmann’s Real Mayonnaise with 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce for this perfectly Spicy Mayo.

Grab a tray to hold all of the condiments for the Hot Dog Bar and to make it easy to transport everything outside. Most of the toppings were ones I already had as a staple but what I didn’t have I just picked up at Sam’s Club when I was purchasing everything else for the barbecue. We use a lot of mayo in the Summer months because of all the salad recipes so the 2 jar pack of Hellmann’s is going to come in handy.

I labeled the spoons using a thin felt tip marker. This was an especially good idea for the sauces so the kids weren’t asking me every 5 seconds what everything was.

Why does everything taste better from a grill? Before we moved we gave our grill to one of our old neighbors. Luckily a couple months after living here a new friend was moving and gave us their grill. What goes around comes around!

Our favorite hot dogs are the Ball Park Prime Bun Sized Uncured Beef Franks. I love that they’re bun sized and their delicious flavor. I always toast the buns a little before filling and the Ball Park Tailgaters Brat Buns hold up really well to grilling and all the condiments.

Dinner time is usually one of the only times throughout the day that we are actually together as a family and not all trying to go our separate ways. With teenagers it’s important that we spend as much time with them as we can. There are only a few short years left. Meal time is a time for us to reconnect and find out how everyone’s day went.

I love the casualness of eating outdoors and spending less time in the kitchen.

And that the kids get to choose their favorite toppings.

Hubby even got a little brave and tried a few new things on his dogs.

I also like to have a variety of drinks for everyone to choose their favorites. What’s your favorite way to dress a hot dog? Or your favorite grilled meal?

My family would love it if I had a hot dog bar at one of our get-togethers. The idea of having all of the options ready and out like this is really cool! Thanks for the ideas.
