I wanted to decorate with acorns this Fall, so I enlisted the help of hubby and the kids. We drove up here (Farmington Canyon).
Then walked through these
And dug through these
To get these.
I love them and I want more, but I’m not sure I can talk hubby and the kids into helping me again. I’m sure I’ll have to come up with some kind of bribery.
Aren’t they beautiful? I painted the pumpkin on the table heirloom white to go with the pumpkins in the jar.
Isn’t this bowl beautiful too. I bought it from Kim at Twice Remembered during her blog sale a few week ago.
Does anyone know where I can find acorns closer than 1 1/2 hours from my home?
Surely one of your neighbors has some extra. 🙂 Good luck in the hunt!!
Did you bake them? I have heard that you have to bake them for a while to kill off the worms that bore inside and any bacteria that is on them.
Not many around me either, although we found a yard next to a yard sale that was full of them but my husband told me if I started digging around for them he’d drive off and leave me. 🙂 Love I tell ya.
i just picked up a few in my MIL’s yard yesterday. the tops are off but i think they are still cute. wow, i can’t imagine driving so far for them!
