I love this time of year. I love decorating with red, white, and blue. I love feeling patriotic and surrounding myself with reminders of this wonderful country I live in. And another thing I really love is making projects using things I already have so I don’t have to spend any money. I used red and blue scrapbook paper and a frame I already had in my stash.

I cut out the stars using my Cricut and the Home Decor cartridge. I cut them out at 2 1/4″ and laid them out on a white piece of cardstock cut to fit the 8″x8″ frame.

Once I had the placement correct I adhered the stars to the cardstock using double sided tape.

Then I just placed it in the frame. It reminds me of a quilt piece.

I decorated the entry shelf in a patriotic theme.

Using more red, white, and blue ticket stubs placed in a glass jar.

And the pinwheels I made last year in another glass jar. I bought the boat at a consignment shop last year.

How do you decorate for this time of year?

Don’t forget to link your great decorating and organizing projects to the Home Decor and Organizing Link Party. It will be open through Friday and I will be featuring some of my favorite ideas on Saturday. I’d love to share¬†your projects.
