KISSES Santa Hat Candy Jars

It seems like all of our neighbor and friend gifts include food during the holiday season. But really what’s more fun than crafting with food or receiving food as a gift? I have to remind the kids and even sometimes myself that we can sample what’s left over once the project is finished. I was so excited to find out that Target stores are exclusively carrying Hershey’s Kisses Santa Hat Chocolates. They are adorable! They look like a Santa Hat and the plume even says ho, ho, ho. I knew exactly what I wanted to make with them. These HERSHEY’S KISSES Santa Hat Candy Jars are a fun friend or classmate gift.

Supplies Needed:

Hershey’s Kisses Santa Hat Candy Jars (found exclusively at Target stores)

Milk bottle with red lid (found at Target stores)

Foam ball

Black ribbon

Buckle

Small black beads

White or off white felting wool

Hot glue

Felting or large needle

Fill the bottles with the HERSHEY’S KISSES Santa Hat Chocolates and reattach the lid. You will need about 2 bags of candy to make 3 bottles.

Make the belt by running the ribbon through the buckle and securing it to the back of the bottle with hot glue.

Flatten a section of the foam ball by pressing firmly on the jar lid or a hard flat surface. Add hot glue to the flattened section and attach it to the top of the lid.

Attach the bead eyes to the foam ball using regular white glue. I used a toothpick while applying the glue and placing the eyes on the foam ball.

Use a small amount of felting wool to make Santa’s beard and mustache. Shape the pieces by rolling the wool in the palm of your hands and using your fingers to create the shape you want. Attach it to the foam ball using the felting needle or another large needle. Simply poke the felt into the foam ball to hold the mustache and beard in place. I only poked the top part of the beard and let the rest of it just hang.

Use hot glue to attach the HERSHEY’S KISSES Santa Hat Chocolates to Santa’s head.

These make cute gifts for classmates, teachers, children’s friends, neighbors, and anyone else you want to give a small gift to. You can never go wrong with chocolate!

We love making things together as a family and these Santa jars are so easy that everyone can help. I’m happy that we get to share traditions as a family every year, creating memories is the best part of the holiday season.
