Welcome to Day 23 of 31 Days of 15 Minute Organizing
Today we’re going to spend 15 minutes and organize the car. I realize you probably won’t get through the whole car so we’re going to focus on the front area today. Grab a garbage bag and get ready to toss out things you probably haven’t seen for years.
There’s not much extra room in a car so only keep things in there that you actually use. I use a desk organizer up front to hold things I need easy access too. There’s also a clipboard and a pad of paper I keep in the organizer. We travel a lot so this is the perfect place for all the cords we need for our electronics and other things.
Clean out the glove box regularly. Get rid of any old warranties, old receipts, and old insurance cards. When you receive the new insurance card, toss the old one. The same with new receipts and/or warranties for services or car parts. We keep extra batteries, pain medication and wet wipes in the glove box. I also keep extra straws, napkins and plastic ware available in the glove box incase we need it while traveling.
There’s a drawer under the passenger seat where I’m able to keep a few more things. We keep head phones in the car for our travels so the kids can watch movies and hubby and I can listen to books on tape and we don’t interrupt each other. Our van has a screen in it so the kids can watch movies. There’s also the book that holds all the car info and a tire gauge. We also have over head storage that holds our sunglasses, TV remote, DVDs and CDs.
Remember to only keep in the car what you actually need there. If you have some extra time to organize today you can check out my post on organizing the back or trunk of the car.
