Remember I said a few days ago that I don’t have a centerpiece for my dining table? I wanted something new, but I didn’t want to buy anything. Then I remembered some ideas I’d seen a few months ago out in Blogland. I don’t remember everywhere I saw them, so if you have one leave me a comment and I’ll put a link right here.
So here’s where it starts. I think this tree might need a little trim and what better time to do it than in the middle of winter in snow boots and gloves, right?
It actually did need to be trimmed on the back side. It’s been encroaching a little to much into my neighbors side yard, so I just took a few of those overhanging branches.
I brought them inside, trimmed off the bottom branches and stuck them in this tall vase.
Hey, pretty good so far, but I knew this project would have to involve snowflakes. So, I took out my unlimited stash and hung some from the branches. I’m not kidding, these snow flakes are all over the house and I still have some to play with. I think the whole bag only cost $2.
Oh, so pretty! I love it and it’s so simple. Here’s some more pictures.
They’re glitter snowflakes, so I hope we don’t get any glitter in our food.
I love that one branch, to the right, trailing out so far away from the others and it’s on Hubby’s side. Don’t worry he doesn’t hit his head on it. I had him try it out. The arrangement is really big so it doesn’t get in the way. Although Amanda keeps saying someones going to get their eye poked out. Whatever! I love it and it was free!
See that big empty white wall in the background? Oh yeah, there’s no way to miss that. I took all the Christmas down and decided to leave it that way because I have big plans for that wall. I’ll give you a hint. The first part of it involves patching holes and paint.
that is fantastic! i love it!
The branches look beautiful on your table….can’t wait to see what you do with the wall!
I love it, I love to use sticks out of my yard. Thanks for inspiration.

While I don’t love winter, I love that centerpiece!
Cute! I LOVE sticks. When I was a kiddo, my mom would bring in sticks and my brother and I would push gumdrops on all the ends of the branches. Thanks for the awesome memory. 🙂
And for linking up to SNS!

I’m hosting a dinner next Saturday and looking for an easy centerpiece idea- this qualifies!
Looks great!
This was the tree I had in my mind’s eye, complete with icicles. Yours looks fantastic!
Love the snowflakes! Great centerpiece!
I like bringing outside in — I’m scouting for branches as well — to bring in to force for some color inside in contrast to our white world OUTSIDE!
Your centerpiece is beautiful and simple and perfect for winter. I am sure you can switch out the snowflakes for something else once winter is over. I love it!! 🙂
