I posted about this project last week, but since even my family doesn’t read my site (sad, I know) I thought I would be safe to share it again. I’ve seen twine wrapped vases at different stores and in catalogs. Of course I can make them cheaper myself, so I did. I used vases I already had around the house, a pitcher I bought at Ross recently for $1.49, artificial flowers I had in a drawer and a ball of twine. Here’s what I started with:

It’s an easy peasy project and it looks great. I used a glue gun to attach the twine to the top of the vase and just started wrapping. I had to add glue to quite a few spots on the tall vase to keep the twine from slipping down the vase or it being too loose. I love the texture and naturalness it adds. I used hot glue again at the top of the handle of the pitcher and wrapped it really tight. Then I secured the bottom end with hot glue also. The twine wrapped handle adds so much interest to the white pitcher. The final vase just has twine wrapped around the center. Here’s the final result:

I placed the pitcher and vases on a large plate. They would also look great on a tray or a cutting board. It’s such a beautiful and simple centerpiece. Of course you can also use fresh flowers. Who else likes to buy themself fresh flowers a couple times a month? I can’t be the only one. Show yourself a little love this week.
What do you think? Personally, I love it! I especially love the twine on the pitcher handle. Easy, fast, almost free! What more can you ask for out of a project? I think it looks great as a centerpiece. Now I’m off to buy myself some flowers.
