I made these about 2 years ago, but I’ve never shared how I made them and noticed there haven’t been too many ghosts out there lately. They’re really easy and pretty cute. I’m not taking them apart though, so I will help you through the process with pictures.
You’ll need:
Styrofoam ball – about the size of a ping pong ball
Wood clothes pin- non-spring type
Elastic bands
14″ Square of white material
45″ Square of sheer white material
Batting
Sharpie pen
Ribbon of choice
First, take the clothes pin and stick it in the styrofoam ball. Add a little low temp hot glue to help hold it.
Add a little batting to the top of the ball and form it to make a somewhat point (I like my ghosts to have a pointy head). Center the white material over the top of the batting and pull it down over the ball. Form it the way you like it to look and wrap an elastic around the clothes pin at the bottom of the ball.
Use the sharpie and some pink chalk to make a cute or scary face. Your choice.
Center the sheer material over the top of the ghost, pull it down over the ball and wrap another elastic around the clothes pin. Take your ribbon of choice and wrap it around the elastic and make a bow. Ta-Da! You’re finished!
To hang the ghosts, I just threaded some white thread through the head. You could use fishing line too, but I didn’t have any.
Don’t they look so cute on my railing?

Those ghost are just adorable. Who would have thought you could really re-create something that has been done forever in such a new and cute way. Love the faces, fabric and ribbons. The ribbons add such an unexpected pop of color. Way to go!
