Yes, I know. That wall should have already been painted.
Give me another week and I’ll have it done. Promise!
But I was so anxious to get to my Summer mantel and that seemed more important at the time.
I’m using my shutters that used to be in the kitchen window over the sink.
I’ll show you what’s going on that window later.
I bought this driftwood at a fundraising auction last year.
I was the only one that bid on it so I won, but I think it’s really cool.
I knew I wanted to use my Sand Dollar Art on the mantel.
You can check out the tutorial for my Pottery Barn knock-off here.
I’ve had the blue bottles for years and I got the shell ball in Hawaii last year.
I can’t believe it’s been a whole year since hubby and I were in Hawaii. I’m so ready to go back.
This picture was taken 6 years ago in Florida. Ammon was only 15 months old.
It was at Christmas and the water wasn’t that warm but the kids couldn’t resist taking a dip.
This photo has such wonderful memories. I can’t believe how small all the kids were.
The mantel still seems like it’s missing something.
So I added a Sea Star hung by some twine from the middle shutter.
I love the weathered look of the shutters. I bought them at a cosignment store a couple years ago.
Much better. I really like it! Now my mantel is all ready for Summer.
It would be great if the weather would just cooperate.
Looks great! I Love the driftwood and the ball made of shells!
I love it! I’ll be showing off my redecorated mantle tomorrow 🙂
You’re right, the sea star finished it off perfectly! Love the shutters and the driftwood is very cool. I’ll be linking up my summer mantel tomorrow as well!
Lovely! I love driftwood and shutters.

Lovely – and it is amazing how that sea star finished it up!
I’m loving the look with the shutter…, and adore your sand dollars. I’d love to feature that on my blog. Such a great idea!
That piece of driftwood is really cool. It looks very sculptural. 🙂
Love your mantel and the driftwood elevated for display gives that piece of weathered wood an elegant vibe, like art. Gotta try it!
Very pretty! The sea star totally completes it.
