It’s time to take another bright orange dollar store pumpkin and transform it into a thing of beauty.
I started out with 2 12×12 sheets of scrapbook paper and cut them into 1 1/2″ strips.
I didn’t have any mod podge so I made my own by mixing Elmer’s glue with water in about equal parts.
Um, I’m missing some pictures because my hands were messy so I’ll just explain what I did.
I used a sponge brush and painted the glue mixture on the pumpkin.
Then I stuck one of the strips on it and added more glue to the top of it.
I smoothed the piece onto the pumpkin using my fingers.
I continued adding strips of paper in the same way all the way around the pumpkin and on the stem.
I let it dry for about 20 minutes then I added a second coat of the glue.
It’s not perfect but I’m happy with how it turned out.
Once it was completely dry I displayed it on top of one of my display plates.
3 more pumpkins left to transform.
I love this. It’s so cute! I love that you are reusing them and I’m sure we’ll see them again next year (maybe even on your mantel.)
