Sunday- We’re doing well on our Christmas Jar this year. We’ve already filled one to the top and are close to the other one being full. If you’d like to read more about our family Christmas traditions, go here.
Monday- Ammon loves building things. Mostly with legos but he also loves building forts out of blankets and pillows for his stuffed animals (and then yelling for me to take his picture).
Tuesday- It was crazy hair day at the elementary school. Ammon wanted blue hair and Zachary wanted purple and white. Ammon also had a field trip today. He was really excited to have his dad go with him to the Utah House and eat lunch at the park with his classmates.
Wednesday- Today was Whitney’s 24th birthday. Hubby and I met Whitney, Ty and Maddux at the Pie for lunch. It’s a fun pizza restaurant in a basement up by the U. I hadn’t been there since I was in high school and forgot how fun it was, plus they have great pizza and breadsticks. Whitney and Ty came by later that night with pie from Marie Callendars.
Thursday- These are the messages that have been left on our message board by the front door. Huh?
Friday- Syracuse had it’s annual Pumpkin Walk this weekend. I have never seen it this crowded before. It was supposed to rain the next day, so that’s probably why. We waited in line for over an hour but the kids love it, so it was worth it. We had hot chocolate and donuts after. The weather was a little chilly, but perfect.
Saturday- Emilee had a dance competition at the 1st Presbytarian Church in downtown Salt Lake City. It was their annual Scottish Festival and fundraiser. Emilee’s #187. I love watching her dance. She’s finished with competitions until next Spring.
Sunday- I bought these tubs of cookie dough, as a fundraiser, from one of the girls in our neighborhood. When I went to make some cookies today the chocolate chunk one had already been eaten out of and no cookies had been made. I guess I can’t just keep tubs of cookie dough in my fridge.
Monday- We had a rain storm yesterday and last night. I went in the basement this morning and found this. We’ve lived here for 6 years and have never had water come through here before. We’ve had it on other walls and have taken care of the problem. Looks like we just need to seal our whole basement. I’m just glad this area isn’t finished yet.
Tuesday- I’ve been running errands today. Store, groceries, medications, post office and returns!
Wednesday- It was our annual Ward/Neighborhood Trunk or Treat/Chili Cookoff. We had chili with toppings and breadsticks to start the party off. After dinner the kids played games and won some prizes. Then we all headed outside for the trunk or treating. The kids love it. You can walk just a few yards and get tons of candy. Just what they need. Ammon and Eli are sitting in the back of the van taking a little break and eating some of their candy stash.
Thursday- I got to babysit my grandson, Maddux for a few hours while Whitney got her hair done. What a cutie! I didn’t get much done, because I was too busy playing with this adorable baby. How can you resist those eyes?
Friday- Candy jars filled and ready to be eaten at our Halloween Party.
Saturday- Ready for Trick or Treating. The boys changed their minds everyday about what they wanted to be for Halloween. Luckily we have a tote full of Halloween costumes. They wore different costumes for the Truck or Treat, the party and Halloween. On Halloween night they both decided to be ninjas. They have beanies and gloves on because it got colder and started raining right as they were leaving the house. This is their fierce look.
Thank you to all of you asking about hubby’s job. He doesn’t have one yet, but he has another interview on Tuesday. The interviews have all gone very well, but the hiring process is very slow. I do wish they’d speed it up a bit. I’m getting to my really nervous and stressed out stage now.
Just wanted to say I love your blog. Not really even sure how I stumbled upon it, but so glad I did. My 5 yr old daughter started Highland Dancing lesson in August and loves it. I saw the pic of the dancers!!
I love the Christmas jar idea! I really want to do that myself. It may have to wait until next year though so that I can have more time to fill up a jar 🙂
I’m so sorry you’re stressed! Everything will work out though, I’ll continue to pray for you and your family. I’m sure Heavenly Father has something great in store
I just wanted to say -after checking out EVERYTHING on your blog – I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to be like you when my fiance and I are ever in our own home. You are an inspiration and the fact that you find so many cheap things and the way you reinvent them is amazing. I will keep following you so I know what to do when we are in the house. Thanks
