Yes, I know, I’m a week behind again. I can’t seem to keep this little series caught up. Instead of doing 2 at one time and having a super long post I’m going to show 1 week now and the next week in a few days. Then I’ll be caught up and hopefully stay that way. This week I decided to do something a little different and show you around my city/town.
Sunday- This is one of the 3 roundabouts we have in the city. This one is the smallest and is surrounded by the Recreation Center, Library, City Center and Post Office. The Police Station is close by also. I love the clock!
Monday- We also have 3 traffic lights. The most recent one was added a few years ago when the new High School was built.
Tuesday- There are 1 high school, 2 junior highs and 5 elementary schools in our city. I have children in 3 different schools right now. We can see the high school from our house, which is nice because that means I don’t need to buy my teen a car to drive to school.
Wednesday- There are still a few old buildings standing in our city. This is one of them. It actually started out as a grocery store and is now home to a design/decorating business.
Thursday- Utah Onion is right around the corner from my home. We have a lot of onion fields in the area and all the onions end up here. The trucks drive by our house everyday and drop several onions out front as they drive by. It smells really good in the Fall when they harvest the onions.
Friday- Just a little way up the street is the causeway leading to Antelope Island. Antelope Island is in the Great Salt Lake. You can bike (or drive) the 7 miles of the causeway then see a lot of wildlife including Bison. There’s a Bison roundup every Fall. There’s also hiking trails, camping and the beach (which I don’t recommend). It is beautiful, but the smell can get to you at certain times of the year. Sometimes we get what I call, lake smell, at our house. Not good!
Saturday- Hubby’s favorite place in our town. The golf course. We almost bought a house on the golf course before we found this one. I’m glad we bought here. I probably wouldn’t see him if we lived there. Still it’s only 2 miles away, so he spends quite a bit of time there. The kids have taked lessons there too.
So that’s a little peek into where I live. I love my city.
