Sunday– Hubby has decided this is his favorite Sunday dinner. I hadn’t gone shopping for a while, so I made this one Sunday with the food we had available. No meat, just noodles, mashed potatoes, and broccoli. He loves it and would have it every Sunday if I let him.
Monday– Hubby and I were talking about when we went to Yellowstone as a family a few years ago. Naturally, one of the first things I thought about was the food we ate. Lame, I know, but we were camping so the food was simple and rather limited. One of the nights we made mini pizzas on english muffins. I thought the kids would have a fun time making their own pizzas for dinner, plus that meant they were doing most of the work. They did have a fun time making them, plus they didn’t have to put anything on their pizzas they didn’t want to eat. For Emilee that meant no sauce.
Tuesday– Parent-Teacher Conferences at the Elementary mean much more than talking to the teacher about your child’s progress. At our school it means Book Fair and we can’t leave the school without buying at least one book each. Ammon looked over the Star Wars books very carefully, but in the end he chose a Lego Town book and a Fly Guy book. Zach chose a mystery/adventure book.
Wednesday– Ammon learned how to twirl around the pole at the school playground. He is so proud. He had to show me at least a dozen times that he could do it. I remember doing that at school too, but I was in 3rd or 4th grade and he’s only in 1st grade. My kids are so much faster than me in every thing they do.
Thursday– It was the perfect day for flying kites, so after the boys got home from school we put the kites together and headed for the park. Zach got his up in no time and let all the string out. It was as high as it could go. Ammon thought that was so awesome, but even with my help he could only get his up about half that. He had fun running around the field though. I was going to sit on the grass a read a magazine, but I ended up running around the field with Ammon instead. It was great!
Friday– I finally used one of my gift cards to get a pedicure. Oh, it was so great! This was only my second one ever. I plan on having another one soon though. It was amazing and my feet look and feel so good. I know I have little sausage toes but I don’t care, my nails look good!
Saturday– Yep, the wall is still red (not gray yet). I have a talent of putting things off I should be doing and finding other things to do instead. Why do I do that? I really like starting projects, but just try to get me to finish them. They’ll eventually get done. They just take a lot longer than they should. I think I’m distracted by pretty, shiny, sparkly things.
