Sunday– Amanda had checked out The Hunger Games from the library and finished early so I decided to read it before it was returned. I have a hard time putting a book down once I start. I started reading it after dinner on Sunday and finished it later that night. Now I need to check out the rest of the books.
Monday– The kids have been having a Harry Potter-a-thon. I can’t really get into it, but my kids love it. They’re looking forward to the last movie. Hubby has even got into it since the kids decided to watch all the movies in 2 days.
Tuesday– Zach’s baseball team was in the playoffs. They played their first game today and were going to be playing 2 games on Wednesday if they won. They lost their 1st game so that was it, but it was really close. Zach played a good game and I’m happy he’s actually been hitting more this season. He’s been improving on his throwing too. He had a good season.
Wednesday– Ammon had his 1st grade plays today. He was in the Little Pigs play and he was the pig that built his house out of straw. The teacher had a few kids tell jokes between the plays. Ammon told a knock-knock joke. He is so cute and isn’t as shy as he was at the beginning of the year. They also awarded the Chinese Speech Competition awards. Ammon got 1st in Chinese Conversation. His favorite part of the prize was the m & m’s.
Thursday– It was a rough day for me. I was looking forward to the Girls Night Out, but almost didn’t go because I wasn’t sure how great I’d be a socializing after the day I had. Sometimes you just need to get away and be with friends that enjoy some of the same things you do. Good food always helps too. It was great to see so many of my blogging friends and to have Whitney there with me too. It was just what I needed that evening (even though I didn’t win the gorgeous frame giveaway).
Friday– Woo-hoo! Finally the last day of school. Now you don’t have to listen to me complain about year-round school until next month. They celebrated the last day of school with swimming, creamies, and a gift basket I’ll show you later. I’m happy there’s no more homework, projects, and studying for tests for a whole month. Yea for flip flops, swimsuits, and popsicles everyday.
Saturday– Today the family went to the Wasatch Front Parade of Homes. We love the parade of homes, even the kids. We always get snacks on the way too which the kids really enjoy. We were only able to see about 10 homes today so we’re going to see more homes throughout the rest of the week. I’m sure I’ll do a post on it later. The boys are pretending this is their pool.
I loved the Hunger Games books, and HP will always have a special place in my heart because I went on my first date with my (now) husband to the first HP movie 🙂
Is your son in the Chinese Immersion program? I SO wish there was something like that here in Wyoming. My sister-in -law lives in Centerville and they think it’s a horribly idea, but I disagree. What a great skill to have!
i read the first book back in april, after seeing everyone in blogland raving over it. i just started the second book over the weekend, and i’m halfway through. i’m trying to pace myself, lol. can’t wait to see the movie when it comes out!
