Sunday– Father’s Day! Hubby had a great Father’s Day with lots of homemade cards and gifts and his favorite dinner. When I asked him what he wanted for Father’s Day he said “food”, so he got a basket full of candy and treats with messages from the kids on each one. So glad he’s easy to please.
Monday– The weather has been so crazy here that I haven’t had much of a chance to work in the yard. I finally got some flowers planted in one of the front tiers today.
Tuesday– I’ve been trying new lemonade drink combinations. This is my favorite right now.
Wednesday– Hubby and I did some work in the backyard today. We finally have the pool ready to swim in. The kids are loving it (and sunburned). Hubby worked on part of the yard and I worked on getting all the play area bark chips back to where they belonged. During the winter and rainy time most of the bark chips ended up under the trampoline and away from the swing set. It took over an hour to spread them out but now the kids can swing and not be scraping dirt and mud. We still need to restain the swing set and buy a new canopy for the top but the area looks much better.
Thursday– Ammon’s baseball team were baseball buddies for the Ogden Raptors today. It was so fun for him. The team got to run out on the field with one of the players when their name was called. Ammon got to run out with the 3rd baseman. He was so cute talking with him. We also took their pictures, stayed for the game and ate a dinner of hotdog, chips, soda, and ice cream. Yeah, my stomach didn’t love that dinner. The Raptors lost, so sad!
Friday– Ammon’s teachers put together a Chinese Speech competition complete with 4 judges. Ammon has been working on his speech for a couple weeks. He talked about his family, where he lives, his teachers and I think his favorite fruit. The fruit was kind of random but I think most of the kids talked about that. There are 56 Chinese Immersion kids all together and about half participated in the contest. I was so proud of him for being so brave and doing such a great job. They find out next week who won the contest. They also sang some Chinese songs. I love his teachers.
Saturday– Today was Syracuse Heritage Days. We started out the day at the parade. My boys love wearing hats to parades, ball games, scouts and anywhere else they can take them off when a flag passes by. They think it’s cool. After the parade we headed to the carnival to ride some rides, check out the booths and eat some yummy food. At home, we went swimming in the pool and ate a light dinner of hoagie sandwiches. All the kids crashed for about an hour before we headed to the fireworks. It was such a fun and exhausting day with the family.
I hope you had a wonderful week!
What a great look into your week. Your outside area looks fab!
