This simple Mixed Metal Rustic Christmas Porch can also take you all the way through Winter. In fact it probably will.
When I decided to decorate with silver, gold, bronze, and a little brown this Christmas I didn’t know if I would have enough Christmas decorations in those colors. But I like to change my Christmas colors every year so I have a pretty good variety. Paint also does wonders. By using things I already had I only spent $10 on my porch this year. Since it’s quite small I wanted to find the right balance between too little and too much. I think I did.
Hubby put the garland up for me. I couldn’t use it around the door this year since I painted the door and took the hooks out. If you’re wondering about the door paint, it’s DecoArt Curb Appeal in Williamsburg Blue. I think I like it here better anyway. I might still add some silver and gold ball ornaments to it.
This metal garden tree used to have white lights wrapped around it but they all went out and I was too lazy to replace them. I like it’s rusty chippy finish. It’s kind of a fun contrast with the palm tree next to it.
When you forget what wreaths you own it’s probably time to get rid of a few (I got rid of 5). I haven’t used this one for years. I love the little pine cones and how simple it is. All I did was hang a large ornament in the center to tie it in with the other decorations.
I love decorating this little bench. It’s fun to change with the holidays and seasons. I added the pillow last minute and I love that it says welcome.
You can bring a modge podge of things together if you find something in common with them. I used the ball ornaments in the glass bottle to be my inspiration and tie everything together.
I was going to stencil a word on the star but sometimes I take the really simple route and just put a word over it. I decorated the porch in about 5 minutes so I call that a big win.
I filled the lantern with gold, silver, and brown ball ornaments and placed it on the tree stump. I found the stump 4 years ago at an orchard and love it. I placed the little tree in a bucket and added some white fabric around the trunk. Since I live in the desert this is probably the only snow I’ll see this Winter.
Use plastic ornaments for outside decorating, they’re inexpensive and you don’t have to worry about them breaking. How fun are all of these different patterns!
I never thought I would live in a pink stucco house. It’s still not my favorite but I love decorating my porch and no matter if I love my rental or not I can make it feel welcoming.
I hope you enjoyed my Christmas porch tour and you’ll join me for my home tour next week.
I always enjoy your style of decor and the fact that you keep it simple.
