I needed a gift for my 12 year old niece for her birthday. What girl doesn’t like jewelry? So I went through my jewelry stash to see what I could come up with. I came up with an idea for a necklace. Yes, that is a piece for a chandelier earring, but I though it would work great for a necklace.
An idea for a bracelet using a piece of chain and some charms.
And an idea for a ring using vintage buttons.
I started on the necklace first. Open the jump ring by using the pliers and twisting it open, not pulling it open.
Add the bead or charm then add it to the necklace and close it, by twisting it back into place.
I added some beads to the necklace by stringing them on a wire, making a loop on the top and adding them to the necklace with a jump ring.
Here’s the finished necklace.
And Emilee modeling it for me.
For the bracelet, I added some beads and charms to a length of chain with jump rings.
I think it turned out pretty cute.
Emilee agreed to model the bracelet for me too.
I used gorilla glue to hold the 2 vintage buttons together. This glue expands a little which was perfect to fill in the gaps between the 2 buttons. After they dried for about an hour, I attached them to the ring piece with gorilla glue super glue.
I love how it turned out.
Emilee really liked all the jewelry she modeled. I hope my niece does too.
Great job. Very cute and creative too!
This is so pretty and dainty! Beautiful! I love the silver and turquoise combination.
