My boys have a little playroom upstairs that was originally supposed to be a storage closet. My youngest liked to be upstairs when I was on the computer and would drag half his toys up the stairs to play with them. Then we would have to take them all back down again when he was finished playing. What a pain that was! So we brought up half the toys and put them in the “playroom”. It had a door though and whenever he had friends over they would shut it. I had issues with that (maybe I thought they were going to run out of oxygen or something, I don’t know). This is the door that was on it. I forgot to take a picture of it before I took it down:
This is what it looks like now:
I bought the panel on sale at Wal-Mart for $6. Two panels came in the bag so I still have one. I already had the tension rod in the basement, so I hung it up, but didn’t like how it looked. The tabs on the top of the panel hung down too low and looked funny. Not funny, ha ha! So I took my scissors, cut them in half and tied the ends together. Much better, I think.
I put the “A” and “Z” on the wall for my boys’ initials and I tied the panel back with some leftover ribbon. The lettering above the door says “second star on the right, straight on till morning”. I think it looks pretty cute and they can shut the panel without me worrying about them. I still want to paint the playroom, but for now I’m liking it.
What a fun space to hang out in – well if I was a kid anyways. 🙂 I like the idea of tying up the tab tops. I have some of those kind of curtains and am not to crazy about them. Maybe I can give them some new life now.
I love it!!! I so love the letters too! What a fun little spot for them to play!
Great place! Love it!
