Since I’ve decided our decorating colors for Christmas this year are white, silver, and red I’ve been able to start transforming our old ornaments and decorations to fit in with this year’s theme. Christmas will be thrifty this year (Hubby still hasn’t found a job), but there’s no reason why old things can’t be transformed to look new again.
These snowflakes started out a rusty brown.
And these stocking hangers started out gold and antiquish (?) in color. I actually bought them at Dollar Tree about 9 years ago.
My new favorite spray paint color to the rescue.
The snowflakes look white in this picture, but they’re really a gorgeous silver.
I decided they still needed a little bling so I coated them with Mod Podge.
And sprinkled them with beautiful silver glitter.
Ahhh, I love them now. I haven’t decided if they’re going on the mantel or on the tree yet.
Look how pretty the stocking hangers look covered in silver paint and now they all match.
I’m going to be painting and glittering more Christmas decor this weekend.
What are you going to be doing? Whatever it is make it a great one.
Those look fantastic!! I will be going to a teacher of the year banquet for one of my coworkers 🙂 Also going to look for fabric to make pillows for Christmas presents.
Very cute! I really love those sparkly snowflakes. I think I may just do some too. They would look pretty hanging in my windows.
