Flowering Branches

It’s time to put away Easter, but I’m not quite ready to decorate for Summer. So I decided to use the branches I had Easter eggs hanging from and do something different with them. I’ve seen this everywhere but I wanted to show you just how easy and inexpensive this little project can be. Use any vase you have hanging around, some branches from your yard, some small rocks you probably already have on hand but if not the dollar store has them, and 1 bunch of flowers from the dollar store.

I cut the twigs off the bottom of the branches. They fit in the vase better.

Fill the vase with rocks (you could also use beans or rice) then arrange the branches.

Pull the individual flowers off the bouquet.

Then snip most of the middle off the flower. The hot glue will hold them together once you stick the flowers on the branches.

I didn’t want too many blossoms so I didn’t glue too many on. You can make it as sparse or full as you like.

I think it turned out perfect for this time of year. I’ll show you where I ended up putting it later. Do you see the gray wall? Yeah, I still need to paint 4 more.

Oh, and this little project only cost me $1 (plus I have flowers left over for another project).

I like the height of the branches. This is a great idea for the top of my wood burning stove. Short flower projects get lost against the chimney pipe. Thanks for sharing!
