I got this idea from Blue Cricket Design. I had a lot of those rubber bracelets. It seems like my kids are always getting them for free, they were even passing them out when we were at Legoland. I loved the idea of covering them with fabric and making them into something I might even wear.
Pick a fabric you like. Cut or tear in 1″ wide and at least 16″ long strips. Glue one end of the fabric to the inside of the bracelet.
Start wrapping the fabric around the bracelet. Pull it a little as you wrap, but not too tight. Glue the fabric to the inside of the bracelet when you’re finished wrapping.
I used fabric glue to attach the embellishments like beads, jewels, buttons or fabric bows. I think they would look great with fabric flowers too. Maybe I’ll try that tomorrow.
These would be fun and easy gifts to make for the girls in your life for Christmas or birthdays. My 14 year old just walked in and wants me to make her more. That’s a pretty good endorsement.
Super cute. I am going to bookmark this for Mothers Day projects for my 4th graders to make.
What a cute idea! So pretty, easy and so many options. I’m really loving your creativity! I couldn’t help but feature a few of your projects today (grab the button!). 😉
Congratulations on your 35th post! I look forward to lots more!

Wow, what a fabulous idea. My girls would love these. Thanks for linking up!
Cute ideas!!! I was wondering if you can use regular hot glue instead of fabric glue. I haven’t heard of fabric glue. Oh and how do you follow your blog?? I don’t see an option for that???
Oh I just added you to my lower side bar and it allows me to follow you that way.
Very cute!
I love this idea!! I’m a teaching so this would be a great project to do with my students for Mom’s on Mother’s Day! Thanks!!
Oh I love these! What a fun and creative way to make inexpensive jewelry! Great job!

Great idea. I swear those bracelets fall from the sky. There’s always a cazillion laying around my house. Way to put them to good use!!
Great idea! I may use that one day. Over the past several years, my Mom, Sister, & I have worked hard at making and trying to find bracelets with flowers on them for Mother’s Day for a local resthome. This would be a great idea to use for that. thanks for sharing your ideas with the rest of us. :o)
Very cute idea ~Blessings Heather ;D
These are SO much more sheik than the rubber band bracelet things. Very cute and super smart.
Very cute and easy too! I love how unique you can make it. Mine would be burlap for certain with something rusty on it. haha!
