Saturday was my niece, Nikki’s, baby shower. She’s due in 2 weeks and is so cute. It was such a fun shower to decorate for, especially because Whitney, Amanda and Emilee were all able to help. Here’s some of the fun decorations we made. She was able to keep them all and hopefully use them in the baby’s room.
I love the look of clothes on a line, so we hung our presents for the baby on the clothes line. I was going to make more skirts, but ran out of time. Whitney made the cutest ever little tutu’s. Oh, sooooo girly. I also added some monogram bling to 2 of the onesies.
You’ve seen the mobile, but here it is again. My sister-in-law had a great idea to get a light kit from Ikea and make it a real chandelier. Here are the dessert stands too, before the cupcakes were on them.
The McKenna banner again, on the fireplace mantel.
I love how the tissue paper flowers turned out. It was my first time making them. They weren’t too hard, but took a while. I made 5 in the time it took to watch a full movie. But I think they create a huge impact. My 14 year old wants some in her bedroom.
Whitney made these cute wood letters that spelled out McKenna. She embellished them with ribbons, brads and bling. They turned out so cute. I took a picture, but it somehow got erased. I wish I could show you because they were adorable.
The food was delish. Sister-in-law Holly made the delicious cupcakes. Whitney made the yummy chicken salad with grapes and almonds and I made the other salads. Here’s Whitney and Emilee at work.

More family.
And more family.
I should have had someone else take the pictures once the shower started. I would get caught up in the moment and forget to take pictures. You may notice, none of the presents. Sorry about that Nikki.
Parker, my grandson is working on eating some of the leftovers. Look at him go!
I think the shower turned out great. We love Nikki and wish the best for her and Greg and their new little McKenna. Happy Labor Day! HaHa!
The baby shower looks like such fun. And what a cute way to decorate! If I win the calendar, I have a special friend I’d give it to–she’s going through a really difficult time right now.
I would love to win one of these calendars (I linked over from tip junkies mompreneur shops)!

What a darling party! Everything looks so cute, I love the idea of displaying all the little outfits on a clothes line.
The shower was so fun! I loved all the cute decorations and I’m still dreaming about those yummy cupcakes that Aunt Holly made. 🙂 I really like the picture you posted of me; do you think you could email it to me? I want to see it bigger.
Also, I’m so excited about your giveaway! What a beautiful calendar at the perfect time of year! 🙂
Brand spanking new reader here. I have to tell you that I spent a lot of time today here going over the things you have done in the past and I just have to say, WOW. You are amazing. What you do with items that I would throw away is nothing short of spectacular. You are now on my blog reader and I can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us. I am going thrifting tomorrow due to your inspiration. I, too, have been coveting the plate stands and will be on the hunt for some pretty plates and candlesticks! Thank you for your wonderful and inspirational blog. BTW, the party looked great and having just used the poms for my daughter’s 6th birthday party, they were too cute to not continue to display. They are hanging in her bathroom! She loves them and I do too.
What cute ideas; I love the clothes line idea–so cute. I also love the way you displayed the cupcakes; it was darling. (Oh, don’t enter me in the give away…I have my calandars–so give it to someone with need)
I love your baby shower decorations. I wish I could have gone. i will have to steal some of your decor ideas though.

Wow! I can’t beleive you got all that done! Next time I have a baby you will have to throw a shower for me. NOT! I better be careful what I say!
What a fabulous shower! I’m definitely going to have to tuck away some of those ideas… no shortage of babies being born around here. 🙂 Thanks for sharing (and for dropping by earlier)!
Thanks for letting us know about Jared Barnes his depictions of Christ are beautiful!
What perfect timing Leanne! I have been looking for some ideas for the baby shower I’m giving on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
You have such terrific ideas here. The mobile is so fun, I can see that I need to find some time to go through you previous posts! I have a tendency to want to make things perfect when doing a shower, but I am having difficulty with color. I was planning on having a pink and brown shower although now it is a double shower with one having a boy and one having a girl. Do you see the decorating dilemma? If I do pink and blue and brown will that work? I know that just by adding the right ribbon here and there it can make things cute, but I don’t believe that light pink and light blue are some of the best colors together. Please let me know if you have any advice.
I made the paper flowers for my sons first birthday. I made the ends pointy so they looked spiky, royal blue tissue paper and a blue grosgrain ribbon. He loved them so! We put one in his room above his crib and he still loves it! We took the rest on our camp trips throughout the summer and decorated our campsites with them. They were well worth the effort as we used them so many times!
wow! so much to comment on! First let me say oh my on all the thanksgiving traditions! I love family traditions. So glad you get to see your son graduate and spend time with him. 🙂
great job on the baby shower! Love it all, the banner, the cupcake stands, and decorations!

I LOVE the giant tissue paper decorations, (did you use a tutorial?) and I made a similar pennant banner this week (will post it soon). The clothesline is adorable.
My parents would love this calendar.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow beautiful baby shower great ideas! everything looked wonderful ~I enjoyed the pictures thanks for sharing Blessings Heather ;D
Great shower ideas!
Fabulous shower decorating! And the food… wow.
And I have to say, the calendar caught my breath. You always see those cheesie pics sold in thrift stores but I’ve yet to LOVE a style like I do this calendar. It’s amazing. My adult step into Christianity is fairly new and what an artistic way to display it. 🙂

What an adorable shower! I love the clothesline.
My fingers are crossed for that beautiful calender.
Cute decorations and adorable baby clothing line. I myself put together a very long baby clothing line for my step-daughter’s baby shower. It was the last gift she opened and it left a lasting impression on her and the guests. Great job!
