I made Emilee’s gallery wall using things I had in my craft room and a canvas print from the dollar area at Target.
I started by grabbing some thrifted and clearance frames and some embroidery hoops. I like to buy frames on clearance or from thrift stores then I always have them on hand when I need them. Then I arranged them in a way that appealed to me.
I went through my scrapbook paper and fabric stash to find things to fill the frames. Emilee’s colors are green, yellow and black so we decided to paint all the frames black but I left the hoops natural.
Some of the thrifted frames didn’t have a back so I made a back by cutting a piece out of a cardboard box.
I love this scrapbook paper by American Crafts. It’s called Letterbox.
And I thought it was so fun because Emilee can write messages or words in the boxes and then erase them and write new ones when she feels like it. I wrote these words on the frame because I think they represent her well. I’m sure she’ll change them soon though.
I didn’t take pictures of putting the fabric in the hoops. Just make sure the fabric is taunt and cut the excess off close to the hoop. Once all the frames and hoops were full I brought them up to her room and arranged them on the floor. Did you notice I changed them? Yeah, I do that all the time. I like the way this arrangement looks next to her dresser.
Then it was time to start placing them on the wall. I used command strips to hang the frames and small nails to hang the hoops. If you notice I do a lot of gallery walls in a random pattern. That’s so I don’t have to measure. Seriously, I hate measuring. I did use a level on the frames though. I can never get anything straight without a level. Guess what hubby bought me in our first month of marriage? You’re right! A level.
The gallery wall next to the dresser. The dresser will be staying white and the wall will be painted eventually. The jewelry box will be painted soon. I haven’t decided how yet but she loves polka dots. Any suggestions?
I’ll be adding more to the wall as time goes on. In fact I’m working on a new piece right now out of foam core board. I can’t wait to show you.
The wall turned out beautiful. The fabric is such a nice pop of colour and the oval hoop is wonderful!
This is so cute! I especially love the embroidery hoop at the top with the flower centered in it. Such a fun gallery wall! Thanks for sharing!
Very adorable! I love it!
I love your fabric hoops! What a great idea. Always looking for a change…I’m decorating a “grandchildren room” in our house for the grandbabies to stay in. This could work in well!
I love the colours. They all work well together. You could use the green with white polka dots material for inspiration for the jewelery box.
I love it the arrangement! I especially love the bird canvas in the center. Awesome!!
So darling! Love the use of color and the birds 😉
Great job! My favorite is the hoop with the flower inside, what a perfect fit!
I love the colors! Very nice spacing too.
Love this – so bright and cheery! Pinning on Pinterest too.
I love this arrangement!! I’ve not seen an oval hoop!! So cool!
Thanks for sharing at Show & Share !!
What a great gallery wall! I keep seeing the embroidery hoop as wall hanging, and I’m going to have to do it.
If you want an easy way to do polka dots, I’d suggest painting the box a light color, then use circle stickers as a mask and paint over the box (and stickers) with a darker color! I think pale yellow dots with a bright green would be super-cute!
Great job, the colors are popping and your arrangement is on point!
I pinned this too! Awesome job!
